Nifty Fifty

Canon has a 50mm f/1.8 lens that’s known as the “Nifty Fifty” because it’s a great little lens for cheap. It’s like $110 right now on amazon for example. With savvy shopping, you can often even find it for less. The lens is known for being tack sharp and great for portraits and other detail work.

and those are beautiful photos!!! i've had the nifty fifty for a few years and i rarely use it. i really should use it more!! i always forget what a great lens it is. fixed lenses just drive me nuts cuz i'm so used to constantly adjusting the focal length.

Thanks! This is my first prime lens so it's strange not being able to adjust the zoom. LOL But even just with a few tester shots, I was so impressed with how it looks.

I also have a macro adapter (since I can't afford the 60mm macro lens I want yet) and on the 50mm, it works really good - again, just on some test shots. So I'm looking forward to trying more with that combo.
