Sho could see that Nino hadn't expected to be asked on a date, and that was understandable, really. Sho hadn't really expected to be asking for the date either, at least not until he realized he wanted one. Once you wanted something, it was only natural to ask for it. Otherwise... how would you ever attain it?
Well, there were other ways, but this seemed the most reasonable.
"I can't date you, Sho-chan, it would ruin the family dynamics," Nino answered with a half-frown, a look only Nino had ever been capable of wearing in a way that made sense. It was like a smirk, but... of disappointment.
"What family dynamics?" Sho asked, having forgotten the 'Arashi is family' scenario they'd come up with one night after they'd had about one drink each. Clearly not enough to mask embarrassment, but that had never stopped them before.
They'd roughly decided, after much difference of opinion and swapping of roles, that Ohno was the grandfather, Jun the father, Sho undoubtedly the mother, 'Aiba-chan the family pet' - he'd been both a chihuahua and a hamster before the end of the conversation, and Nino the grumpy old bachelor next door.
"The mother can't cheat on the father with the grumpy old bachelor next door! It isn't right," Nino pointed out, slinging his bag over his shoulder.
Sho wasn't going to let that be an excuse.
"I can't be a mother unless I have children and we didn't make anyone a child," Sho reminded him, taking a step closer, and then another step for good measure, "And as a mother with no children, I have the right to decide who gives me those babies."
"You want grumpy old man babies? You don't want strapping young lads?" Nino asked, tugging gently at the edge of Sho's shirt when his steps led him closer yet.
"Well," Sho thought a moment, holding back a laugh, "I really would like dinner first."
"Okay mama," Nino replied with a grin, "but you should know, if it's a boy I'm contractually obligated to name him Mario."
"And if it's a girl?" Sho asked as he held open the door.
"Zelda," Nino answered, grabbed Sho's hand and pulled him through.

Secrets Best Kept
For

They had always subscribed to the idea that the best kept secrets were the ones hidden in plain sight. It had always worked perfectly - no one had ever guessed, to the best of their knowledge, and no one had ever grown suspicious of their behavior.
They didn't avoid eye contact, didn't try too hard to be distant or nonchalant. They talked and laughed and occasionally held hands, just like they did with the other members. It was easy to be affectionate in the environment Arashi created, but there was still an inner struggle. There was still some holding back, and sometimes... well sometimes... they slipped.
Like that time in the elevator...
"I'm sorry, I know, I'm sorry," Sho murmured against Nino's lips, continuing to press firm kisses there, hands gripping Nino's waist tight.
"Don't talk, no time," Nino breathed, looping his arms around the man's neck, his eyes half closed. When the number grew too close to their destination, he pulled back and gave an apologetic smile.
Sho wiped his mouth and faced the doors.
Or that time in the closet...
"I want you, all of you," Nino whined, knowing there just wasn't room to be thorough, "Sho."
"I love you, just..." Sho moaned, silencing himself by burying his face in Nino's neck as he thrust gently forward into the man's hand. It had to be enough for now. They were lucky to even have this.
Nino hummed, kissed Sho's hair, twisted his wrist. Sho nuzzled softly as he came.
Or that time in the car...
"No really, it was amazing," Sho repeated for the billionth time.
"You're just saying that," Nino argued, shuffling the deck, ignoring the safety of seat belts as he was perched halfway in Sho's lap.
"Shut up already," Sho grumbled, poking the man's side. Nino frowned and pinched his thigh. Sho knocked Nino's cards out of his hands, Nino punched his gut. Sho pulled Nino's ear, Nino pulled Sho's hair. They both met in a kiss.
"Guys, what the hell?" Jun's voice sounded, Nino and Sho separating in a scramble.
Jun's eyes were elsewhere.
"Leader's warm," Aiba said as he burrowed further into the man's coat. Ohno sighed happily and pat him on the head.

Tongues

"I think you and me and beer would be... fun," Sho spoke slowly in English, lip quirking up in a half-smile.
He and Nino had been conversing in nothing but English during each break in filming, though he'd already forgotten who had started it and why it had continued. It was now a game, of who could say what and who would be the first to no longer understand. Sho was more proficient, maybe, but Nino could certainly hold his own.
Somehow they'd gotten from a causal conversation about the weather to propositions of things to come.
"You are so kind," Nino pat Sho's knee, "But I have..."
Sho waited patiently as he watched the wheels in Nino's mind turn, the man's eyes shifting back and forth quickly as he processed.
"Big plans," he finished with a wide grin. Sho laughed and scooted a little closer, resting his hand on Nino's lower back.
"Big plans are nothing. Don't you... want to go with me?" Sho asked, realizing he missed a word, but figuring his meaning came across anyway. He was a bit faster than Nino in pulling his sentences together, but it was amusing to watch the man catch up. He couldn't predict what would be said next.
"You pay?" Nino asked, resting his chin on Sho's shoulder, "Get us... hotel room?"
Sho opened his mouth to respond when he felt an arm settle roughly around his shoulders.
"You speak Japanese?" Aiba asked with an eyebrow wiggle.
Sho sighed.
"Yes, your English is great Aiba-chan," Nino responded sarcastically, comfortable in his native tongue, "And your timing is impeccable too."
"Thank you. I'm happy," Aiba continued in English, flashing them both a peace sign.

Warmth
For

"This is only keeping my back warm," Nino complained in spite of being wrapped up in a hug from behind. Sho snorted and squeezed a little tighter, reaching for Nino's hands when he relaxed his hold again.
It had to be truly freezing for Nino to even admit he was cold, let alone voice concern over it. An outdoor photoshoot for a spring issue of a magazine when winter wasn't quite over yet? Sho thought that to be cruel, especially when Nino's jacket was so light.
"The desert... a hot, burning sun... fire..." Sho tried word associations, testing to see if that would warm Nino up any better.
"Now you're just making me thirsty," Nino laughed, trying to shrink enough to fit Sho all around him and steal his body heat.
"Tea... coffee... a glass of water?"
"Now I have to peeeeeee," Nino groaned, closing his eyes and leaning his head back.
"There's just no pleasing you, is there?" Sho frowned playfully, looking down at Nino's face and trying not to break into a smile.
"Yes there is," Nino argued, turning in Sho's arms to be enveloped in a proper hug. He pressed a kiss to the collar of Sho's shirt and then rest his cheek there, sighing as he settled.
"I see," Sho spoke quietly, feeling warm all over.

Guilty Pleasure
For
grutendon ♥
It was his happy song.
It had started out as something to make fun of, really. A silly drama theme and completely cheesy to sing, easy to not take seriously. Sho had been right there with him on that, as had the rest of the members. A quick way to make fun of Matsujun and remind him that no matter how big he got as an actor, he was in Arashi and Arashi would fight to keep him as sweet and ridiculous, in no way an arrogant talent.
But the more they rehearsed it, the more they performed it, the more Nino couldn't stop himself from genuinely enjoying it.
Someone would ask what they should sing at their next music variety show appearance.
"WISH," Sho would suggest with a straight face every time, even if they were supposed to be picking from their newest singles.
"WISH," Nino would always agree, striking a stupid pose.
It was rarely ever WISH.
But on that rare occasion it was included, he and Sho found themselves practicing their dance moves with bright smiles and bursts of laughter.
"To be with you forever," Sho gripped at Nino's shoulders, biting his lip in an attempt to be dramatic, "that is... MY WISH."
Nino snorted and clamped his hands down on Sho's shoulders in return.
"MY WISH... that is..." he paused for effect, "to be more popular."
Sho rolled his eyes and pulled away, stepping lightly on Nino's toes.
Nino tossed his head back and laughed.

Sho came home to a Nino curled up on his couch, not engaged in the usual activity of video games or magic DVDs, but shaking with soft laughter, eyes glued to an old episode of Shukudai-kun.
He smiled as he plopped into the seat beside him, pulling a beer out of the bag he'd carried in with him. He handed it to Nino, who nodded in thanks, never breaking his gaze with the television.
"How much you want to bet that half of what we shot for Aibaland isn't aired?" Sho joked, opening his own can of beer and taking a full swig.
Nino shook his head, smart enough not to take that bet, sipping at his own drink more slowly.
"Matsujun was having a seriously bad hair day," Nino made conversation, smirking and unconsciously leaning a bit closer to Sho, "I think he knows it. He keeps scowling."
Sho hummed, watching in silence for awhile, sitting up straighter and leaning toward the television when he started to pick up on something.
"You know," he started, laughing breathlessly and turning to look at the man beside him, "when you're unsure of something or in a pinch, your voice tends to go up a couple of pitches and you get smaller."
"Smaller?" Nino's voice was definitely higher in pitch as he questioned Sho, his form already somewhat tiny from the way he squished himself into the corner of the couch.
Sho laughed again, "Yeah, you're doing it now! So what are you unsure of?"
Nino scoffed, stretching himself out and sending a playful glare Sho's way.
"Whether I should kick you in the crotch or just give you the silent treatment."
"But you love me!" Sho protested, jaw dropping to help him look incredulous.
"Only on most days," Nino answered, taking another sip of beer.
Nino's laughter mixed happily with Sho's growls as he succumbed to attack, falling backward, beers spilled and forgotten as they pleasantly struggled to breathe.
