The screen was closed and everything was dark, only the illuminating of their faces accompanied by their new hit single ’Dream Girl‘ visible. The crowd was already screaming only from seeing SHINee‘s faces. It was always sensational to hear and feel the response of their fans when they performed. That overwhelmed Key every time, still not believing their success, even though it lasted for five years already. Five, that was the number they should have been, but Jonghyun wasn‘t there tonight, currently lying in hospital, recovering from his surgery. Everyone of them tried to cover up the worry and sadness of the temporary loss, especially Key.
Jonghyun had told them to do their best and give their fans a smile from him as well. By the time when they were leaving the hospital, Jonghyun had been looking at Key with the brightest smile, as far as that was possible with the nose bandage, and told him to shine twice as bright. Key could only nod and smile, biting back the sadness.
The front screen opened and they stepped on stage. Originally they were ought to perform other songs, but since Jonghyun's lines he thought about the other, feeling a little sting in his heart.
‘Aside‘ was up next after ’Lucifer‘ and ‘Stranger‘. Key was happy about the darkness right before they started, giving him the opportunity to focus. Minutes before they had entered the stage Key had already told himself that Jonghyun is alright, it only was a temporary injury and he was already recovering. There was no need to be sad or afraid, but he couldn‘t help it. Without Jonghyun he, and SHINee, wasn‘t complete. Now as Key sang 'Aside‘ together with the others he felt the need for Jonghyun to be there the most, but he couldn‘t let his sadness show, he had to shine for him. He had to shine like a diamond.
