Summary: After Marlene pleaded with her the night before about to Hogsmeade, she agreed, and the girls spend three hours in the village.
She really didn't want to go; felt it was wrong to leave the castle and watch everyone have fun while remaining oblivious to how tight her chest felt whenever she saw someone smile or heard a laugh from the other students. Couldn't they see that it hurt? As she stood next to the entrance of the castle, waiting on Marlene. She'd been in the library since seven that morning because she couldn't sleep or else she would have met her friend in the common room.
It felt as if she were betraying her dad by going off and doing something. He could no longer smile or enjoy the simple things about life; he couldn't enjoy much of anything anymore. Such thoughts nearly caused her to cry, but she held fast and bit her lip to quell such a reaction. When she was home, she wanted nothing more to be with her friends and James, but now that she was there, she felt as if she'd abandoned her family. Her mum needed her and Lily needed the other woman just as much, so why was she there?
