Frank had been watching from his position up by the hoops as the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw seeker chased the snitch. He held his breath as they both reached out for it simultaneously and then let out a loud shout when the Gryffindor seeker held it high in his hands.

Swooping down, he joined the rest of his team on the ground as they jumped up and down and cheered amidst a chorus of excited fans from the Gryffindor side of the pitch. They were there for quite some time, other members of their house filtering down onto the pitch to join on the celebrations. Finally, over the shouts of everyone, someone suggested they get cleaned up and celebrate properly in Gryffindor tower.

Setting his broom on his shoulder, he walked away from the crowd towards the changing rooms, a jovial smile set in place on his lips. He passed Ravenclaw's and looked at the door for a long moment, knowing his girlfriend was in there and probably wasn't all too pleased with the results.

Alice pushed opened the door and nearly ran directly into Frank. She looked up through a mess of blond hair and sighed before muttered hi and heading for the castle. What was she supposed to do? Act like she was happy for him when she was still too miserable at losing to think of anything else? The cup had been in their grasp, and this knocked it out. The one loss they couldn't sustain. Alice felt like she had failed as a captain.

"Hey," he said, the look on his face faltering as he looked down at her. She walked past him and he watched her a split second before reaching out for her arm. Touching it, he gently pulled her around and gave her a small smile.

"You did good out there," he said softly, not caring in the slightest if someone from his team was looking at them.

She let him pull her back as ultimately it wasn't him she was upset with.

"Yes will apparently not good enough," Alice tried to give a small smile but failed as her eyes started watering. "Now I'll never win a cup."

"You did the best you could," he said honestly, knowing how hard she had worked to get her team in shape and how many games they had won; they'd even won when she was shacked up in the hospital wing recuperating. Holding his broom in one hand, he wrapped his other around her, kissing the top of her head chastely before pulling back.

"It's just...I'll never play again you know? And I picked the ministry over quidditch and though maybe I could go out with a winning season." Alice hung her head but leaned into him, letting him hold her just the same.

"You did really well by the way Frank," she said softly, meaning it even if it was hard to say.

Frank shook his head, letting his hand run up and down her arm twice. "That's not true," he said, looking down at the necklace around her neck. "We'll still play occasionally and who knows," He shrugged. "There might be some improptu playing after we leave."

He ducked his head a bit more, taking his eyes off the necklace and looking down at the ground. "Thanks," he said and finally looked up at her.

Alice looked up and caught his eyes, cocking her head a bit to the side. He could be off celebrating with his team and his house but instead he was standing here with miss miserable. She gave him a small smile and then reached up to run her fingers down his cheek.

"I love you." Her voice was warmer even though her eyes were still a bit misty.

He dipped down to kiss her swiftly, knowing he was still a sweaty mess from playing. Frank wanted a shower, but also wanted to make sure she was going to be okay. "I love you, too," he said, kissing her once again for good measure.

"I'm going to shower and go up to Gryffindor for a bit, but -- have supper with me?"

"Yeah okay," Alice said with a small shrug, leaning up on her toes to kiss him quickly for a second time. "Just meet you there?"

Oh that would go over well, eating dinner with a player from the team that had just beat hers.

Frank nodded, looking at the changing rooms and knowing that he needed to get a shower; he likely stank to high heaven. Giving her a final smile, he told her goodbye and that he'd see her shortly before jogging off to his changing room for a shower.
