Summary: Evan and Marlene finally have their talk about Avery and the DE's.
Evan walked quietly up the steps after dinner, entering the library without notice. It had only been a day since his internal ranked Death Eater meeting, and he was still on edge. Walking back to the far back table as she requested he sat in silence, waiting for the inevitable. He knew it was stupid to join the ranks of the Death Eaters, but with a father such as his and with months of let downs from all those he had foolishly trusted, he felt it was his only option. But now the time had come to pay the price of hurting someone he cared about. He thought he was protecting her by being a leader, but she still got hurt. And it was only now that he realized how many more were going to get hurt in the process. He couldn't protect everyone he cared for and eventually someone would be lost, mentally or physcially. Was today the day?
