Dear Anna Pastuchova,
we are pleased to send you the new call for applications of Geschichtswerkstatt Europa. The support programme of the Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" will in 2012 fund projects that examine War, Post War, Cold War - Remembrances of World War II and the New Beginning o the Post-War Years (1945-1960). At the centre of interest are the after effects of World War II on European societies in the first 15 post-war years. While during this period, the European societies in general were trying to forget the past and to look forward to a new start, the individual experiences of violence were still very lucid. How did this ambivalent situation influence remebrances and interpretations of the war incidents? For more details have a look at the attached call for applications.
The Institute for Applied History is responsible for project advice and support in cooperation with the European University Viadrina and the Global and European Studies Institute at the University of Leipzig.
We would like to ask you to forward this call for applications to persons between the ages of 18 and 35: students, graduates, young academics, journalists and other members of civil society, who might be interested in planning a project together with a partner (person or institution) from Central or Eastern Europe or Israel. A project outline can be submitted between 1st of April and 15th of May 2011 via the online form at Geschichtswerkstatt Europa.
