This weekend was both exhausting and exhilarating.
We were going to go to the Aquarium on friday,
but things didn't work out so well.
I still think we had an awesome, luxurious morning together.
It was a bummer that the Lagoon nights was closed,
but the drive alongside the beach was really nice.
It'd be really cool to have a place next to the beach someday.
I also got to see where my mom used to live.
I can't begin to tell you how many memories THAT shook loose.
I was as giddy as a school girl in plaid!
We found some cool stores near the aquarium.
A pirate store (yay!) and a place called "Hot Licks" (I think),
where they had nothing but hot sauce.
I remember going there with my mom and brother when they visited last summer.
Then, we had an exiting fun dinner at the Crab Pot.
They brought out an entire bucket of crab legs, mussels, clams,
corn, potatoes, sausage, a tiny fork, mallet, and bibs and said,
"Have fun!" and boooy did we! We were laughing about it the whole time.
The best part was that we got to watch the sun go down
as we ate our food. I think that made up for missing the aquarium.
Later, we went to a wine bar, had dessert, (and a dessert wine) and headed home.
Saturday was a little more hectic, but just as fun.
We got together all the ingredients for our shrimp scampi.
It was a lot more work than we'd both expected.
After a couple hours of shopping and cooking, we were done
and I mean....DONE. So, I suggested we finish off the bottle
of wine and head for the hot tub. Ding Ding! Good idea? I think so!
It was nice, warm, and bubbling when we slid into the water.
This really was a weekend of luxury.
After we got all pruny, we decided to clean up as much as we could,
get the food ready, and head off to the decadence party.
We were a little late, but there were still a lot of people there.
Good friends, good food.....good times.
We ended up getting into the hot tub, AGAIN, at that person's house.
(Now I know how those clams and mussels must've felt!)
We all had a lot of laughs, some more food, and a little too much to drink.
Needless to say, it was an awesome weekend.
I wouldn't have changed one second of it for the world.
It's about my lunch time, so I'm gonna have some more of that
delicious, leftover shrimp scampi.
Salud!
