The g/f and I have been talking of marriage for a bit, Saturday night I'm going to officially propose. As we have talked about it, the wedding will probably not be until next fall. Dude, my mom is a florist. She can give you the hookup for all of your wedding planning needs when it comes to anywhere in the Dayton/Springfield/Columbus area. If it's a fall wedding, best to start planning just after the holidays (January/February) because that's when most of the places start booking... depending on the location, some want a year in advance, but 6-8 months beforehand is standard for a no-frills type of event.

As far as your mom goes, that should be an awesome source for flowers, decorations and such. But as I am male, could you explain what else a wedding planner does?

Nitty gritty details like how many people are in the wedding party, what sort of unique (both religious and secular) aspects do you want it to have, are there any family considerations to keep in mind, who can print up your invitations/thank you cards, and even resources to do-it-yourself if you have a capable computer and printer ( ... )

awesome. I think we can handle most of that, between knowing a few ministers, djs, people for catering and such...other than that that could be great. We will talk.
