Our tennents have decided it was time for them to move on, not because the power had been cut off, not because they have been offered something better, but because the house is an unhealthy house that is full of mould, damp and other lergys, and they thought it was making them sick!
now all things considered (the house was built in 1909) there is a degree of condensation, and yes condensation can cause mould to form. but honestly, if you wipe your windows and air out the house from time to time, you can keep it to a minimum easily, i know we lived in said house for over 8 yrs.
on the other hand we did housework, vacumned regularly and aired out the rooms. On Wednesday i had the dubious pleasure of cleaning what was their bedroom so we could paint etc before getting new tennents.... it took me over 5 hours (for that room alone) of scrubbing and buckets and buckets of sugar soap and hot water! and we need to replace the carpet it is so stained!
i'm guessing that room would have made anyone sick!
And for on sunday i get to clean the hall (i think there is cereal and juice stains on the walls) and the(walk in) pantry, (flyspec city) and the oven...
thank god i bought a wee cd player, thus music,  to help with the tidium....and , a  fab flatmate who offered to help two days in a row... and she saw the state of things, days before, and easily could have dreamed up any reason not to have to tackle the icky icky dirty dirty! she rocks!
on the plus side the section is quite tidy,  they didn't break or destroy anything, and rent was always paid on time, and i don't have to live with them...
