Blood makes the grass grow

May 19, 2007 18:43

issahla and I did a bunch of gardening today, and I finally have my super spooky blood garden. I have a border of Japanese blood grass, a patch of bloody dock, another of bloody crane's bill, and dragon's blood sedum for ground cover. It's delightfully incarnadine. I have some space left, however, and am looking for some more plants. The garden is in the raised beds in front of the house, so I need plants that work best in full sun and well-drained soil. This eliminates bleeding heart, bloodroot, and the lovely bloodgood maple.

So, if you find any more bloody plants, like the daisy-looking things with red stems and roots, please let me know.
