I can't take this WGA strike anymore!

Jan 10, 2008 17:57

According to an article in the New York Times today, American Gladiators is likely to be the big hit of this TV season. Help us all. When will this strike END already? This is torturous!

Happily, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are back as of Monday night, sans writers. The shows, especially Colbert's, are surprisingly entertaining if not a bit too politically educational, but both hosts are relying on interviews with professors and politicians for the meat of the shows. Nevertheless, they sure beat watching two chicks pummel each other with giant Q-Tips.

Even better than finding on Tuesday morning that the DVR had automatically taped The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (yay!) was the following email I received later that day. I'd forgotten all about the fact that ages ago, I scored Daily Show tickets for late January, but when the strike started, I'd given up on ever seeing a live taping. I'd tried multiple times to get tickets for a couple of years, and it was not easy. So I was all "Oh woe is me, guess it wasn't meant to be" but hells bells, did I luck out or what? 733 11th, here I come.

Just a friendly reminder that you have reserved tickets to attend a live taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Please print out this e-mail and bring it with you.
