RADWIMPS (also known as RAD) is a J-Rock music group formed in 2001 while the members were in high school, and is currently signed to EMI Music Japan. Their name is a mix of the English words 'rad' and 'wimp', a term they coined meaning "excellent weakling" or "superlative coward". http://www.radwimps.jp/biography.html

He's a returnee Japanese, having lived in the United States in his childhood. (This explains the English lyrics for some of RADWIMPS' songs.) He composes all of the music and does all of the songwriting.
He has said that his lyrics are based on true stories (although 「遠恋」を除く).
He started playing the guitar during his fifth grade in elementary school, and he names OASIS (and Noel Gallagher) as one of his influences. He uses a Gibson ES-335 guitar. And there's something about Takuya Kimura's "Yozora no mukou"? (Heehee, sorry I didn't get that much! The Japanese text reads "木村拓哉の演奏する「夜空ノムコウ」を見てギターを触ったのがきっかけ。")
He's famous for his fake afro (I call it the mop'fro :D), and as you can see from this article, he likes to wear hats and usually gets them from CA4LA (pronounced Ka-shi-la; (website))
