sorry, I had to; it's the perfect excuse lights_legacy March 22 2010, 05:14:53 UTC

[And look who comes strollin' in the door. An android OUT of armor, but perhaps recognizable to those who know him? He seems to be following information on a slip of paper, and this takes him...directly to wherever Jaime's sitting/standing/et cetera. A brief information comparison, and what? What? Couple-a quick reviews confirms it. X ain't necessarily displeased, but there's sortuva sweatdrop reaction goin' on here.]

Hey. Um...it looks like you're my blind date. Is that alright with you?

[Of all the people they choose in this town... it had to be Sol. Jaime's not really displeased either, but judging from the look on his face, he wasn't exactly expecting it.]

Huh? Ah, no, I'm okay with it! I mean, er--- [good going, Jaime, awkward already.]

I hope you like Italian.

Aww, thanks. I'm glad the threadjump wasn't unwelcome. ^.^ lights_legacy March 23 2010, 00:57:28 UTC

[Fufufu. Sol's just a mischief maker that way, mah boi. Luckily the same can't be said for X. He takes a seat on the other side of Jaime's table and offers a reassuring smile.]

Italian sounds great. Thanks.

Oh no, it's perfect! *o* ... And wow, just noticed that typo. Sorry. notaluchador March 23 2010, 03:53:58 UTC
No problem. [smiles back]

How've you been lately?

No worries there; I was tickled. ^.^ Incidentally, I love Jaime; he's so nice. lights_legacy March 24 2010, 04:21:15 UTC

I've been okay, all things considered. It's been a while since the last incident. (!) Oh, speaking of. Did you hear about the monsters in the market square?

Thanks! He's def. a sweetheart, and so is X. ♥ notaluchador March 24 2010, 22:38:23 UTC
[that got his attention! Peering up from the menu he was just looking at, Jaime shakes his head.] Wait, what?

... I heard nothing about that.

It was awful. A fight was already well underway by the time I got there. At first, I thought that maybe the Coliseum'd had a spell mishap...but we questioned employees after the fact, and didn't find any evidence to suggest that gating rituals had taken place prior to the attack.

We managed to stop them without anyone getting too badly hurt, but...

That's just... [he groans, rubbing his temples] At least you guys were able to stop them.

Still, that makes me wonder what they were doing here in the first place.

[le nod] The patrol was still trying to find that out when I last checked. There's nothing definitive yet, but...since this is Memento Eden, anything's possible right now.

...I don't want to imagine it, but it's still a possibility that this could happen again. If it does, we could end up with something worse. We'll have to be ready.

While that does worry me, I also think that we can handle the monsters Memento throws at us. From what I've seen of these people, nearly everyone can fight in some form or fashion... and if they don't? They'll later remember skills or abilities that will help.

Is there a group of people that works with things like these? Because if not, it'd be a good idea to form them.

I hope you're right, Jaime. We should be able to keep everyone safe ws long as any threats stay within the range of what we've already encountered. The problem is that nobody has experience with a situation like this, so we don't know what to expect...and there's no guarantee that everyone on the island will be able to defend themselves. Only five people fought back in the market that day; everyone else took cover when the monsters showed up.

You know, I think you might be on to something there. If we keep counting on chance to give us the right cirumstances, it's only a matter of time before we're really caught off guard and end up with a disaster. It might help to have a rapid response unit around.
