Overnight, stacks of some substance have appeared all around town. Closer inspection will reveal that these stacks are made of sewing needles. And somewhere in each needle stack is a single straw of hay.

After catching sight of a few of the needle stacks, Tsubasa decides that he's going to need some kind of tool to look through them without hurting himself. With that in mind, he approaches a stack with a tray borrowed from the café with which to chip away at the needles until he can look around for the straw.

The tray certainly helps keep Tsubasa from hurting himself, but progress is slow. This might take a while...

Stiiiiill chippin' away. If he can handle waiting under the landlady's bed while she folds laundry, this is nothing.

Tsubasa works for a little while. Still no hay yet.

Phew, this is taking a while. He's getting tired, but if he stops now, it'll all be wasted effort - including that time under the damn bed. He is determined to reduce this stack to a scattering of needles if he has to.

Well, no hay yet. Tsubasa may keep going if he wishes.

He most certainly does! Even though his arms are admittedly kind of aching by this point and his patience is running a little low.

Well, it paid off! A small bundle of hay is visible.
