These days, Olette didn't spend much time in the Ari Apartments' kitchen. After somewhat stressful days at the bakery, the last thing she wanted to do was head over to the kitchen and cook herself dinner. But yet, here she was, and she was unfortunately a witness to Sheena's cooking "talent."

Laughing nervously, she made her way over to the older girl before commenting, "What's wrong, Sheena?"

... That was when she noticed the pot fall into the sink. Staring bemusedly, she scratched her cheek, "Perhaps you might want some help?"

"Yeah, that might be a good idea," Sheena was still staring at the pot. How the hell did she cook something that could eat through metal? She sighed.

"I'm trying to make this curry recipe I remember, but... well, it's not going very well. I could have sworn it was onions sauteed in red satay... Umm, do you know where another pot is? I... don't think this one is usable anymore."

Shaking her head (Olette had sadly seen some sad cooking in her lifetime), the girl headed towards a nearby cabinet and pulled out another pot.

"Yeah, I know this place like the back of my hand," She smiled slightly, bringing the pot back towards Sheena. "Here, let me take that to the trashcan."

Tossing the pot away, Olette blinked, "Oh yeah. What kind of curry recipe was it?"

Sheena gladly handed the ruined pot over and accepted the new one. Hmm, now to cut up the food again... and then to sautee and simmer... She was so caught up in reviewing all the steps, she nearly missed Olette's question.

"Huh? Oh, pineapple curry."

Shinon had slept in and was looking for a late lunch. What he found instead was an odd scent, but against what he thought was his better judgement, he decided to see what was going on. He wasn't all too surprised to find Sheena there. The pot made him raise an eyebrow.

Shinon leaned against the wall and folded his arms.

"I hope it tastes better than it smells."

Sure, that's fine. carries_a_bell January 9 2010, 05:04:44 UTC
At the sound of Shinon's voice, Sheena jumped and whirled around, "Blessed Goddess, are you trying to give me a heart attack?!"

Eventually, after her nerves had settled, she sighed, turning to scowl at her attempt at cooking from memory. "I doubt it. I remember what it looked like when I cooked it back at the Temple, and this looks nothing like that. It's probably better off as some sort of lethal poison," Sheena scrubbed her hand through her hair, lips pursed in annoyance, "If you really want to eat something, there's rice. I didn't ruin that, thankfully."

"Little jumpy, aren't you?"

Shinon stepped into the kitchen, surveying the damage. He looked it over, shaking his head and making a grim smile. He was breathing through his mouth and not being inconspicuous about it.

"Fine, I'll take some rice. Somehow I still have an appetite."

"Well, excuse me for wallowing in my failure to make anything edible. Man, I do just fine during work..."

Glancing over and observing Shinon's clear lack of appreciation for her generosity (well, she did by the food herself), Sheena couldn't help but glower at him. Geez, no need to rub it in.

"Get it yourself. It's over on that counter," she pointed at another, smaller covered pot, "I hope you know where the bowls and utensils are."

Arnold's nose twitched at the smell of something burning. He looked about for a fire extinguisher, mentally crossing his fingers that the apartments weren't on fire. He liked having a warm place to sleep, thank you very much.

Peeking around through the kitchen door, he saw Sheena standing next to the sink, a glum look on her face.

"Sheena? Everything okay?"

Sheena jumped at the sound of a voice behind her. Man, her cooking wasn't so bad that it alerted everyone in the building... was it? Turning, she was greeted with the sight of one worried Arnold.

She sighed. Maybe it really was that bad... "Eh, could be better. I found out my cooking can corrode stainless steel."

Arnold was in no way relieved at that. Instead, his face remained pensive.

"That is..." He tried to think of a good word for it that wouldn't hurt her feelings. "...impressive?"

It probably would've come across better if he hadn't made it a question.

She snorted, "Yeah, yeah, I know. It sucks. Shinon already mentioned."

Sheena sighed, before turning around to face the other, "So, what's up? Did I alert everyone in the building to the potential disaster area down here?"

Her voice was wryly amused.
