fff at the end of the tag we get ginko's vash impression perhaps? sore_feet_man December 15 2009, 09:09:31 UTC
Ginko allowed himself the few seconds between hearing someone coming in the front entrance and Hibari arriving at his side to be the jaw-slightly-slacked boyfriend. Just those few seconds. The kimono worked better than he ever could've hoped, considering he picked it out without Hibari there.

I was right. He can pull it off damn well...

Ginko took one of Hibari's hands in his as soon as he was close enough to, letting him stand there for only a second before he began to lead them from the lobby and down the hall. "Thank you again," he said with a nod and smile to the host, "I appreciate your help." Apparently he'd made some requests before Hibari had arrived, to make things easier for their stay.

Ginko held onto Hibari's hand tightly as he led them to their room, partially out of eagerness to get the date started and partially because he...was vaguely afraid of Hibari running away. He made casual chatter as they moved down the hall and turned around corners, though it was all one-sided and required no reply. He was trying as hard as he could to sound like one of those much more sociable, slightly idiotic people.

"You have to see the room, I think this one's my favorite view I've seen yet. Since it's facing the south, we'll get plenty of sunshine in the morning. If you're hungry, the food is on it's way, I went ahead and ordered for us already. After that, I think a nice long soak would be just right..."

He didn't ramble the whole way, keeping it all nice and natural. Even though Ginko was terrible at lying, the illusion worked because he really was on a date with the person beside him, and looking forward to it.

Arriving at their door, Ginko slid it open for Hibari and stepped aside for him to enter. "Here we are," he said quietly, giving a soft smile that said No one's behind us in the hall or up ahead, you're safe to run in if you want.

"Actually, looks like they're on their way," Ginko replied, his head peeking out of their room and down the hall at the approaching host, "...I thought they'd have more customers because of the season, but it looks like we're some of the only ones who reserved tonight, so service should be as prompt as it can be. Ah, thanks," he smiled and nodded to the host, moving aside to let them carry into the room four trays loaded with expensive sushi, steaming hot soup, and other beautifully arranged traditional delicacies. Oh, and of course a bottle of sake was opened, just a bit poured into the serving bottle, which was kept over a portable low cooking flame to heat it for serving it lukewarm.

When the host left, Ginko tilted his head forward again. "Thanks, we'll be fine for now," he thanked them, offering a tip and then sliding the door closed.

"...The coast is clear for now. I should've planned better and let you know ahead of time; you won't need to worry about the wig now that we're in here. They were happy to accommodate when I asked that they phone our room first before coming to our door. When they come back for the trays, all you'll need to do is stay out of sight," Ginko explained, taking any handbag Hibari might've brought along and giving him a thanks-filled smile, brushing the fake hair away from his face.

"...And if you're worried about having wig hair, then we'll go down to the onsen right after this, how's that? The staff agreed to give us privacy since I'm such a loyal customer, so there's no need to pad your yukata or sneak around when we're there."

Ginko gave a sigh, relaxing his shoulders. He'd been a little tense, too, talking with the onsen staff and making it seem like he wasn't hiding anything. A few of the hostesses were students from school, but he'd been happy to note that they had been with other customers for the evening.

Sliding down to take a seat on the floor right up next to Hibari, he carefully served a cup of sake for each of them. "...They just put it on, so the flavor will open up some after it's had some time to warm up," he noted, replacing it on the flame and pouring a bit more in from the sake bottle. He leaned over to peck Hibari's cheek.

"I can't tell you how moved I am that you put up with all that. You could ask me to do anything right now, and I'd do it."

And another cup of sake was poured!

Ginko chuckled. "Glad you like it. This is the same dinner I had on my first visit here two years ago, when I won a stay for two in a lottery they were holding at the opening ceremonies for the place."

He then tipped back his first cup of sake, placed the first cup back on the table, refilled it, and tipped back that one as well.

Letting out a satisfied sigh, he carefully replaced the serving bottle back on its flame. ...Okay, what was that he was saying earlier? About the sake's flavor? Hypocrite!

Well. He had to make sure he matched Hibari cup-for-cup and all.

"I have a present for you. It's not much," he said, leaning back on propped-up arms as he let the sake settle in his system, gazing up at Hibari with that peaceful grin of his.

Ginko leaned back up closer to Hibari, starting to take off his deep-scarlet scarf, which was rather long...and looped half of it over Hibari's head.

"...Said it wasn't much. And it's overdue, I said I was going to get it a while back," Ginko explained as he tucked it under Hibari's chin and over his shoulder. He just wanted to demonstrate how cozy it was, they didn't have to wear it for the rest of the meal or anything of course. "What do ya think?"

"If I'm on time, then you'd be expecting it," he teased back, pulling and slipping the scarf back from around Hibari's neck...just a little provocatively. A little. Then, he stood to put the scarf and his coat away in the coat closet, picking up Hibari's kimono and wig on the way as well.

"I must be doing fantastic for you to compliment me so much in such close succession," he chuckled lightly to himself, straightening out the kimono on its hanger and looping the obi over it. He paused at the wig.

And put it on his head to look in the mirror inside the closet door. "...Hmmm."

He let the wig be pulled from his head--

--so he could encircle arms under Hibari's as he grabbed for it. He was happy the evening had been going so well, and the sake was settling in nicely! It didn't show on his cheeks so much yet, though. "I said not to read too deeply into it, didn't I? Of course I'm attracted to you as a man.

"That doesn't change the fact that you look amazing in a womens' kimono, though. Kimono accentuate a person's neck, and we've already discussed yours, remember?" he said smoothly, resisting the urge to nab a bite of the subject at hand.

"It's not the sake as much as you think," Ginko said, releasing Hibari, "...I feel like no one's watching, maybe that's it. We're all alone here."

He scratched his hair where Hibari had messed it up, but left it as is, moving back to the table for some of the food.

"But...I'll behave."

He would very much like to see if back on, without a doubt, so he'd definitely give it his best shot!
