Y'know, maybe he'd finally gotten used to this whole dating thing. When they'd first become a couple, Danny would stutter and stumble over every word he said, and he had felt as though even the slightest sign of clumsiness would seem foolish. Now, he was a lot more comfortable and natural about it all.

"No problem," he replied, grinning at her. Well, that was a bit of a lie--dinner was a bit hard to figure out, since...well, the Ari Apartments wasn't a great choice for a date, of all things, and this small town didn't really have that many restaurants. But he'd pulled through, and without having to cook himself! (He couldn't yet remember whether or not he'd inherited his mother's talent for creating vicious turkeys and carnivorous sausages.)

"The next date? Hmmm..." Danny paused to wonder, looking up at the sky. "We could always go flying again, if you want." He personally loved flying, but it was up to Olette if she wanted to do that again.

Flying? Olette couldn't help blushing at the thought of being up in the air again. It was true she was still slightly afraid of heights -- those screams were screams of pleasure, okay? -- but if Danny was with her, she wouldn't mind going around the island again.

She nodded, "Sounds good to me."

But right, they were still on this date! And it hadn't quite ended yet. Olette slowly inched towards him, not quite sure exactly what to do next. She didn't exactly want to go home, but... she didn't want to initiate anything if Danny wasn't up for it. Instead, she opted for tracing patterns lightly on her boyfriend's shoulder. Smiling, she let her fingers gently go up and down his arm. "Hey," She gently brushed aside some falling leaves. "I guess it really is fall, huh?"

Danny nodded in response, making a mental note to take her out flying again. He would've transformed on the spot and taken her up right then and there, but then he felt a tingle on his arm. He turned his head and realized it was Olette doing that.

He grinned before taking a glance around all the trees nearby, half of their leaves on the ground already. In the moonlight, the leaves' colors were not obvious, but he could tell they were no longer green. "Yeah, I guess it is." Which was a pretty unnecessary statement, but that didn't really matter, did it?

Danny found a bench a few feet to the side of them and took a seat, staring out at the landscape. He wasn't really an outdoorsy kind of guy, but he was a sucker for staring at the stars (and spending time with his girlfriend).

"Sorry," She quickly apologized, not quite sure if the touchy-feely action had been bothering him. But she followed him to the bench and sat down beside him.

While she wasn't one for looking at the stars either, it was a welcome change of pace from the always twilight sky back home. Whenever she left again (no, if she left again), she wouldn't be able to get this kind of view again.

"You ever took astronomy?" She giggled. "Because as much as I like looking at the stars, I never seem to know which is which."

"I didn't really take astronomy," he said, choosing to ignore her apology because he wasn't really sure what the apology was for, "at least, not that I remember. But yeah, I know what some of these stars are. It's pretty much my only reason to go to the library." The only time Danny usually set foot in there was to read up on outer space some more. That very well could have made him a geek, but space was one of those things he was just plain fascinated by.

"You wanna know which is which?" He glanced over to Olette, grinning.

Hey, at least he was still reading. Olette didn't really mind that her boyfriend didn't spend much time in the library, since she spent her time in the bookstore instead, but it was still nice to know he at least visited it once in a while.

"Of course I wanna know," She grinned. "But maybe we'll save it for another time."

It was rare for Olette to look so mischievous, but she certainly seemed to act the part as she slyly turned to face him and gently kissed his lips. If she wanted to let go, she certainly wasn't doing it now.

Danny didn't catch her impish look at first, since he was still looking up at the stars. But she certainly had his attention when she made a move to kiss him! As unexpected as the kiss was, though, he didn't pull back, and instead returned it.

Stargazing was nice and all, but he wasn't about to pass up on a chance to have a kiss! After all, what sort of a teenage boy would he be if he did?

A really weird one, that's what! Sensing he was okay with it, she then wrapped her arms around his neck as she continued kissing him. Only occasionally did she let go - and even then, she was only doing it to breathe! - from their snogging.

Hopefully this park was as secluded as she thought, or some passerby would be witness to quite the romantic scene.

Sadly, it wasn't. Ike was doing his routine patrol when he stumbled upon the scene. Needless to say, he was feeling very awkward. He tried to walk on silently, hoping that neither would notice his presence.

Unfortunately, Danny managed to catch sight of Ike sneaking by out of the corner of his eye. Logically, he should've just pretended he wasn't there at all, since he didn't seem to be making a big deal out of it.

Of course, when you find that someone has been watching you make out with your girlfriend, you're not going to react most logically...or subtly, for that matter.

Danny turned his head sharply towards Ike, trying to make sure that someone really was there. In the process, he broke the kiss and lost his balance, falling over backwards on the bench. "Gaaah!" he shouted, just before he landed on the grass.

Okay, that was weird. Nervously staring at her boyfriend, Olette watched him fall before she looked to the source of his apparent shock and bewilderment. What on earth was making him so embarrassed about the whole deal?

...Oh. Whoops. Guess this place wasn't going to be as quiet as she thought it would. Sure her face was incredibly beet-red, she murmured, "My reputation is going to be shot," as she buried her face into her hands.

Well, he had been seen. Mission failed. And to think he once sneaked through an enemy fort undetected...

Ike wasn't sure what to say in this situation. All he could manage to get out was, "...Er..."

Quickly, Danny scrambled to his feet and stood up, stammering as he tried to come up with a good excuse for what they were doing alone in the park at this time of night. The only excuse that came to mind, however, was the classic, "it's not what you think!"

...which, unfortunately, almost always made people suspicious of what "it" was.

"Danny!" Olette hissed, still burying her face in her hands. "That just made it sound worse!"

Finally standing back up, she nervously, hesitantly stood up and waved nervously at Ike. "Hi," She finally replied. "Um... sorry you had to witness that."

By now, Ike had an idea of what to do. "I was suddenly struck temporarily blind," he said. "I saw nothing." Of course, that obviously wasn't the case -- he was telling them that he would put it out of his mind. Of course, the situation remained too awkward for them to keep going, but that was unavoidable.

It may not have been obvious yet, but one of Danny's greatest weaknesses is subtlety. There is a very good reason set of reasons why his friends call him Clueless One.

And tonight, Danny would live up to this name. "Huh? What are you talking about? Of course you saw us!" Danny didn't want to let this guy go after trying to pull the wool over his eyes--he might've been planning to do something! (He had no idea what he could be planning, or why, but that was irrelevant.)
