Mistral arrived punctually (even if her mun did not), wearing a newly purchased yukata with a star pattern on it. After some serious debate, she had decided not to go with any fancy ornaments, and instead left her hair down as it usually was. Pink, she decided, was awfully difficult to match with clothes sometimes.
"Wow, looks great!" she said, mostly to herself. "As always, the Island is full of surprises~!"

Gaignun wasn't far behind in a dark blue yukata to boot. He wasn't too sure about the traditional garb - a far cry from the suits he typically wore - but seeing a good portion of the population wearing similar clothing was comforting, at least.

"I'm not sure whether you're commenting on the ball itself or your choice of attire," he began, "but I agree nonetheless. Thank you for coming."

"Heheh~ No problemo! It's more fun this way, isn't it?" She asked brightly. Turning to scan the area, she quickly spotted some nearby bamboo, along with the tags meant to be hung on their leaves. "Hey, want to write wishes on the tanzaku before we do anything else?" She suggested. "We wouldn't want to forget to make wishes~!"

"I wasn't aware that there was wish-making involved," he mused allowed. Tanabata was a largely foreign holiday to him, but as he recalled some of the memories from the Kukai Foundation, the concept of a holiday seemed largely foreign to him. He never did take much time for himself.

"Perhaps I should have given it a bit more thought, but sure, we can do that."

"Oh, you don't have tanabata where you come from? And you weren't here for it last year..." True, she only had very vague memories of tanabata from her childhood, but the celebration last year had re-taught her much of the traditions surrounding the holiday. "Most people write wishes on tanzaku - those little slips of paper - and then hang it on a bamboo leaf." She explained as she began leading the way to the tables.

"Hmm~ What should I wish for this yeeear~?"

He listened quietly but attentively as they walked towards the tanzaku. He had never been one for making wishes, but then Memento Eden had a tendency to ignore any concept of normalcy. His wish was quick and decisive, as it was one of the few questions he thought simple enough for the island to answer.

I wish I knew the Missing Number.

Jr. saw a familiar head of pink hair off by the bamboo and casually made his way over, figuring he'd find Gaignun there as well. He grinned and waved to Mistral and her date as he approached.

"Hey, you two! Making wishes, huh?"

Mistral recognized Jr.'s voice immediately. "Hiii~!" She waved energetically at the redhead.

"Yup! Have you made a wish yet?" She asked brightly.

"I did, yeah! It was the first thing me and Yomiko did when we got here." He peered at the piece of paper in her hand curiously. "What did you guys wish for?"

"I wished for the safety of my friends and family. It's a little generic, but I really hope everyone I know back home is safe." She said with her customary smile.

"That's a really nice wish. Nothing wrong with that!" He winked. "I wished for the safety of the people that've left the island. And... well." He broke off, smiling a bit sheepishly.

"Heheh~ Looks like we had the same idea!" Mistral laughed. "How does the saying go? 'Great minds think alike'?"

Though Mistral peeked at Gaignun's wish, she didn't comment. Instead, she scribbled down her own wish.

I wish for the safety of my friends and family back home.

She knew the Island probably would not be able to grant such a wish, but it was a nice thought. She really did worry about them, sometimes. Her husband, and the child that she was supposed to have...

Shaking the thoughts from her mind, she hung it on the bamboo leaf and turned to Gaignun again. "All done! Is there anything in particular you want to do?"
