Lenalee stood along the edge of the dance floor in a summery dress, watching the gathering with a small smile on her face. She remembered last year's Tanabata, memories that brought tears to her eyes for just a moment. Reminiscing would have to wait for another day; for now, she wanted to see who she knew at this event.

Klarth was still searching for his date. She'd sent him a picture, of course, though his mind seemed to have already painted it over with other women he was more familiar with. She was blonde. Hyper. Called herself Misa-Misa. Those three clues ought to have been enough.

In the middle of his searching, he caught sight of a familiar figure standing alone, seeming a bit . . . melancholy. "Ah. Miss Lenalee." Since their first contact, he had visited her restaurant three or four times, whenever he felt a particular need to blow all his money at once. The food was extraordinary. "Good to see you out and about. Enjoying yourself?"

"Hello, Klarth." Lenalee smiled, bowing just a little. "I only just got here, but it already looks like a lot of fun. Have you been here long?"

"A little while now. Searching for my date, actually." He tugged awkwardly at the front of his yukata, letting out a nervous laugh. "You should go and try some of the food -- Your restaurant is quite good and all, but free food should never be turned down, right?"

"You sound just like Allen!" Lenalee was laughing, hoping it covered the edge of her thoughts. "But the food at festivals like this is usually really good. Do you plan on dancing?"

Under normal circumstances, Nina might have noticed the tears. However, a ball didn't fall under normal circumstances, and Nina was more than excited enough. Seeing her roommate, she called out to Lenalee and waved, making her way over in a pale green dress with a low back to accomodate her wingspan. "Lenalee! I'm glad you made it."

"Oh, Nina!" Lenalee waved, smiling wide. "You look wonderful. Where did you find a dress like that?"

"It took a bit of searching, but I found it at the formalwear store." The compliment sent her mood skyrocketing and now she felt as if she wore the biggest smile in the ball. "I did not see anything similar to what you're wearing," she responded, trying to keep herself in check. "Did you find it there as well?"

In a white tuxedo, Erk was about ready to visit the food tables when he spotted Lenalee out of the corner of his eye. He made his way over, acknowledging her with a barely noticeable nod.

"Lady Lenalee," he said with a bow before adding, "I haven't seen you for some time. I hope you're well."
