Raven was fully prepared to hit the ball in his regular clothes. Terra, on the other hand, would have none of it and gently pushed him in the direction of the formalwear store. He had come out in the exact same outfit with a tie.

That didn't fly.

So he came out with a bowtie.

That didn't fly either.

Then he came out with a new shirt, but the same jacket.

That didn't fly and then she told him to get a new outfit altogether.

He tried a fourth time and managed to follow instructions, coming out in a yukata. And so that's what Terra got - the most fashion-conscious man in all of Memento Eden.

While Raven had attempted to find a suitable outfit, Terra had also looked at the beautiful yukatas, and had decided on a red one with a flower pattern. She was quite pleased with it and her date, as her soft smile attested to.

"Thank you for finally picking out a new outfit, Raven."

"Yeeeah, well, I knew I wasn't gonna hear th' end of it if I didn't, so yer welcome."

His smirk showed that, as he behaved 98% of the time, he was still screwing around and nothing he ever said could be taken seriously.

"If you had just listened to me the first time..." She sighed softly, but didn't stop smiling. She was getting better at picking up on Raven's joking attitude, albeit slowly.

"You look very nice."

"I did listen! How was I s'posed ta know ya meant ta get somethin' new? I jus' heard get somethin' nicer."

He didn't react to her compliment. He could've said thanks, or even acknowledged it, but it was more fun to him to continue teasing.

She just shook her head and began walking toward the park, the smile still present on her face.

When they arrived, she looked around at the lanterns, then up at the sky. "Oh, look at the stars! How beautiful..."

Stars? What stars? Raven was more focused on the food upon food upon food. "Would ya look at that! There's a sight fer ya."

She turned to look at him, then followed his gaze to the many plates of food. "I take it you're hungry, hmm? Shall we get something to eat?"

"Hungry as ever. C'mon, we should get somethin' before everyone beats us ta all th' good stuff."

When he walked, his arms came down from behind his head, but his right arm wasn't at rest. His hand was at belt height, pressing against the yukata as if he were trying to hold something in place. The left, on the other hand, was already grabbing a plate while Raven looked over the food wiht hungry eyes.

There was more than enough food for everyone - and then some! - but Terra was willing to indulge him. She began to fill a plate of her own, occasionally glancing at Raven. She couldn't help but notice how his right arm was held stiffly at his waist, even as he gathered food with his other hand. Normally, she wouldn't have thought very much of it, but considering what she had felt that time when she fell on him, it made her wonder.

It couldn't hurt to ask, though she knew she'd never get a straight answer out of him. "Is your arm feeling okay, Raven?"

He put the plate down as a look of confusion crossed his face. "Huh?" He moved his left arm around several times, twisting, lifting, turning. "Yep. Feels fine ta me. Weird question."

She frowned a bit. "I meant your other arm."

It wasn't in her nature to be aggressive, but she knew that the only way she'd get any answers was to take charge. As much as that thought bothered her, not knowing bothered her even more.

He looked down at his other arm and noticed he was holding onto his yukata. When did he do that? He blinked as he let go and brought his arm up as he just had with his other arm. He stared as he watched, waiting for some odd feeling... but nothing happened.

"Nope. This arm looks fine too." Whether he was just acting or genuinely confused by his actions wasn't readily apparent. So he went back to loading food on his plate.

This time using two hands.

"That's good, then." She watched him closely, but it was clear that she'd learn nothing at the moment. She decided it would be better to just enjoy the ball; questions could come later.

She gathered up her own plate and began to look for a free table, hopefully something closer to the back and a bit out of the way of all the crowds.

Crowded was likely the first word used to describe the mayhem that was the ball - as several had pointed out, it looked as though the entire island came out for these events.

Eventually, they had found a table, unwittingly to Raven, to Terra's specifications. It seemed a bit out of the way from the ball and dance floor itself, so it was comparatively quieter.

Comparatively. The party still raged on around them, but at least before they dug in themselves, it was a moment of calm.

Terra relaxed noticeably once they were away from the worst of the crowd. She sat her plate down and began to eat, albeit slowly; she had never been one to inhale her food. Occasionally she glanced at Raven while trying not to appear too obvious; she was watching his arm movements and his chest, but she was also looking at his face in an attempt to judge how much he was enjoying himself.

It hadn't taken memories for her to realize that crowds made her uncomfortable, but she had still wanted to attend the ball, if only for the promised memories and an item from home. She had been shocked when Raven asked her to attend with him... and it had only surprised her more as other people she knew had also asked. She privately admitted to herself that she was quite pleased that Raven had asked her first.
