Who: Aya and anyone else who enjoys alcohol and hilarity.
What: Aya finally got around to finding the bar, and is now drinking like there is no tomorrow. Or next week. Or next month.
When: Early afternoon until closing time.
Where: The bar.
Warnings: Possible violence and tomfoolery by a drunken Tengu.

It's not like there was much else to do with her money, anyway. )

Ginko sidled into the bar, feeling like it'd been a while since he'd come by. When the bartender asked what he'd like, he hesitated, and decided to try something new.

He left the bar with a glass of scotch and moved his eyes across the lively crowd. The first thing he spotted was a young girl sitting next to a dangerous-looking pile of empties glasses. He wondered if he should ask.

Aya, branching out into this new-and-exciting "rum" concept, was pretty far off the drunk end at this point. She reached up to balance her glass on top of the pile, and ordered another one.

While she waited for it to arrive, Aya idly spun around on her stool, because the alcohol's adverse effects on her sense of balance made this a much more exciting activity than it should have been. So exciting, in fact, that around the fourth revolution, she lost her balance completely, falling off the stool.

However, Aya didn't hit the ground. In her surprise, she reflexively hovered to a halt, floating about a foot off the floor, facing the ceiling. Taking a moment to get her bearings and figure out which way was up again, she floated back onto her stool as if nothing had happened.

Ginko looked at his drink, and back at the little girl again. I just got this drink, right?

He moved over to her, curiosity peaked. "Are you all right? I saw you fall, but then..."

Somebody she hadn't met before! Aya spun around, managing to stop in the approximate direction of Ginko. She smiled and waved her camera at him, in some sort of vague gesture. "I'm fine, I'm fine! I don't fall easily."

"I've been wondering since I saw you, but are you really old enough to even be here?" Ginko said warily, although he expected he already knew about what the answer would be. His curiosity, now, was on the mechanical contraption clasped in one of her waving hands.

"What are you holding?"

"First," said Aya, answering Ginko's questions in approximately the order he asked them, "I don't remember. Second, you shouldn't ask another question until I've answered the first one. Third, it's a camera."

"I mean, what is it," Ginko repeated his second question, ignoring her correction of his conversation etiquette, "I haven't heard of a 'camera' before."

"A camera's a camera." Even when sober, Aya's patience for explaining basic things wasn't huge, and the rum wasn't helping. "It takes pictures, like this." With that, she snapped a picture of Ginko's puzzled expression.

Ginko immediately jerked his head back reflexively, blinking a few times, and then a few more times, trying to regain his sight. "...That wasn't 'taking' anything, that was just you blinding me."

Rather than directly replying, Aya squinted at Ginko for a moment, trying to figure out if he looked familiar or not. "Haven't I seen you around the school building?"

His sight back, save for an annoying floating square of light in his vision, Ginko planted himself in a seat at Aya's table and took a sip of his scotch. "...I teach science. Not that science has any baring on a good deal of the things that happen around here," he said, glancing sidelong at the magical girl with the magic picture-taking box and the magical livers that let her drink so much.

"All right, then, now I have a picture of the local science teacher not being a good role model for his students." She tilted her head at the scotch. "Is that any good?"

"It's just fine-- I'm a perfectly good role-model," he said with a scowl, and gestured for the camera, "Let me see that. I don't believe you."

Aya leaned back, nearly falling off her stool again, to keep the camera out of Ginko's reach. "You can't get me to part with my camera so easily."

"Hmphf," Ginko said, leaning back into his chair and continuing to eye the instrument. Part of him wanted to prevent any evidence of the head of the science department going to the bar on a weeknight, and another part of him wanted to just see how the damn thing worked.

Well, he seemed level-headed enough. Maybe even a little too much. Either way, he was sitting next to her, so they might as well become friends.

"I'm Aya."
