Holiday Festival Log

All around town, shades of red, green, gold, and silver have been strung about in long garland chains. Pearlized glass snowflakes hung from building's corners and candy cane striped poles marked street intersections. Flickering lanterns that never seemed to go out, no matter how a gust blew or how snow fell upon them also lit up the town with a cheerful glow. And scattered in various doorways and hallways hung mischievous sprigs of mistletoe. Pine scented wreaths hung upon the doors of all the major businesses spreading cheer and Town Hall itself was elaborately decorated in the spirit of the season. All of this appeared as if overnight, but most of the residents were rather used to that by now.

In front of the Ari Apartments a loose large ring of small, but beautifully decorated pine trees has been set up. Within this ring is a bonfire for keeping warm and there are tables laden with food, steaming warmly into the chilly sky, though somehow keeping at just the right temperature. Meats, cheeses, fresh breads all sat out waiting for the residents of the town to partake of them. Hot ciders and bubbling champagnes also were set out, along with juice and egg nog. An entire table of sweets was laid out as well laden with candies, chocolates, cookies and cakes (especially Christmas cakes of course). Small tables were arranged for sitting and eating as well as long benches for people to sit at and enjoy the fire as well. One of these tables held several books, some containing cheerful holiday music sheets and others were stories and tales of the season. The entrance to the apartments was one of those in particular that had mistletoe hung above it as if waiting for unsuspecting victims lovebirds and playful friends to make use of it.
