"Sorry for the wait~" called Vash as he re-emerged, changed into his usual clothes once again but with a plain, collared white shirt on top instead of his firetruck red coat. He'd just given his hair a quick towel-dry, and his blonde hair hung messily around his head, not pointed straight up as it usually was. Giving his hair one more hand-dry with his towel, he moved to throw it on his bed, stopped, grinned with slight embarrassment, and folded up the towel in four before sticking it in his closet.

"...Thanks, Miles, heh," he mumbled pathetically, turning to his roommate and taking a seat near the prepared tea, "I'll make sure I make it on my own next time!" he added. Although, I thought it was just fine like that... =_=

((I'm obsessed with establishing what my characters look like, ha ha... anyway, Vash's hair is down, is all. I love that look. 8I Also, I'm thinking that Vash had to order a new cravat from the local seemstress or something, since I can't imagine them having that on stock right away...but I'll need to double check with Ari or somebody. 8D;;;))

Miles's gaze flicked up from his book as Vash entered, eyebrow raising. "And I am sure at that time it will be a very cold day in hell." he answered, snapping his book shut as he rose from his chair. He placed the book back on his bed stand and approached his roommate, taking a seat as well.

"You seem well.." Miles said offhandedly as he focused on pouring them both a cup. He managed to keep any annoyance or concern out of his voice - something he took some pride in - but the effort was ruined as he stole a glance over at the other, eyes drawn immediately to where Vash had been injured. Miles turned his head, handing Vash his cup in slight embarrassment at being so obvious. "Here - and do not simply chug it. Tea should be savored." he ordered, picking up his own cup.

((He needs to put his hair down more often ^^ Yeah, I think there's someone.. Miranda? who does seamstress stuff. I'm not sure O_o Don't worry about it too much, Miles will live ^^ He'll just be crankier then usualy if that's even possible))

H-have a little faith in me, come oooon~ T_T, Vash wanted to say, but kept his mouth obediently and tightly shut as his roommate took a seat and began serving their tea. He couldn't help but adjust his posture and straighten his shoulders, watching Miles go through the motions and preparing the tea with obvious expertise. Vash concentrated so hard he started arcing his eyebrows to ridiculous heights and clenching his jaw, but he blinked back into reality when Miles held out a filled tea cup to him. ...Wonder why he's looking embarrassed. He's doing just fine! I guess he has high expectations for himself, too... Makes sense, heh.

"Thanks! Yeah, I couldn't be better," Vash replied cheerfully, taking the cup. Er...Of course I know to sip tea, but that's more just 'cause I don't want to burn by tongue. >_>;;;

"Lucius really is amazing! I knew there was magic on this island and all, but I never thought that they could heal injuries like they'd never been there in only a matter of minutes," he said, bringing the tea cup to his lips. A sip of tea was all it took to make his face relax from a forced, for-show smile into a real one. "...Wow, this is delicious..."

"He was really able to do such a thing?" Miles asked, eyebrows raising as he observed Vash. The other man certainly seemed worlds better than he did.. but really, so quickly? "I am not certain I will ever get use to the idea of magic.." he admitted, taking a sip of his tea and savoring it. He had a feeling those machines wouldn't be back and getting quality tea leaves again would be a challenge.

"But perhaps your world did?" Miles asked. My world certainly did not have arms like yours. He added mentally but did not say out loud - he would wait for Vash to bring up the scars or arm, not force him.

Vash kept contemplatively silent for a few moments, taking in the pleasant aroma of the tea. When he spoke, he almost sounded like he was talking to himself. "...I wish I knew. I can't remember a thing, no matter what I try, so...I'm left with what I came here with, as clues."

He suddenly clenched his jaw and turned his head down, feeling a wave of shame coming over him as one of those clues came into mind. Miles'd probably be angry if he knew that I've been carrying around that big gun with me everywhere... But I can't afford to let anyone know if I'm going to keep someone from getting hurt by it...

He realized that he might've looked suspicious, going so suddenly quiet like that, and brightened up again with a forced chuckle. "...W-well! If anything, I suppose if my world had magic, I'd still have a left arm, right?" he said a little louder than might've been appropriate for evening tea, and after a few seconds awkward silence picked up his tea cup again, blushing, and sipped it.

Miles watched Vash's head lower after he first spoke, bringing his cups to his lips as he pondered the reaction. Does he feel guilty for not remembering? Or for what he might remember? With those scars.. perhaps he suspects the worst. Miles thought, eyes widening slightly at Vash's fairly loud and weak attempt at a joke.

"Well.. the technology to create such a fascinating appendage certainly is more advanced than anything I recall my world-" he paused at the phrase. - his world? Dear lord, when did he start thinking of things in such terms.. "well.. I do not recall such technology." he finished, glancing down to his cup.

"I.. wouldn't worry so much about regaining your memories Mr. Vash. It's a waste of energy. You shall remember in time." He said almost awkwardly, looking back up to Vash with a slight smirk. "You honestly seem to be enjoying this damnable island - despite some unfortunate accidents."

"..."

Vash smiled. "You're right, Miles." He took a sip of his tea, and smiled even more. "...You're absolutely right!" This place is where I am, and I'm loving it!

"You know what, if I do remember anything, it won't change a thing," he proclaimed happily, "because I'll still be here, having the time of my life!"

He glowed at Miles, honestly feeling much more openly happy than he had been five minutes before. "But come on, Miles, I bet you like this place at least a little bit, right? As far as I can tell, you even have a few friends here who remember you!"

((Muse-brain failing, mom watching movie on t.v., getting late.........but more fun times tomorrow 8D;;;

But yeah, I can't wait to dump some emo-inducing memory on Vash, mwa ha ha... god, I'm evil. 83;;))

Miles resisted the urge to smirk, maybe smile, at the other's enthusiasm. It's certainly infectious.. he thought, bringing his cup to his lips in order to cover any quirking of his mouth. He glanced over when Vash mad his observation, glance moving to the side.

"Yes.. I suppose things could be worse." Miles said, setting his cup down. "I do admit to enjoying something of a simple life here, as simple as this island becomes yet.. I cannot help but feel like an experiment of some sort, which puts such pleasure on edge. I.. don't like to be controlled." he said slowly, fingers tightening slightly around his cup at the last words.

"Regardless.. I have often considered given the choice.. to regain my memories or enjoy this ignorance, I must choose my memories. The truth is very important, no matter how stark or uncomfortable it may end up." he paused, looking to Vash. "What choice would you make Mr. Vash? If you could choose this life or your unpredictable memories?"

((I hope you had a good night, sorry for not answering after ^^'''' feel asleep >> << >>

Oooo, what are your plans for the one percent? .. have I asked you that before? O_o))

Vash paused the teacup that had been on the way to his lips, finding himself staring into the pool of warm liquid for an answer to Miles' question. "Heh, what am I saying..." he said as he grinned slightly, placing his teacup down on the table again without taking a drink, "I really do want- no, I have to find out...who I am." Or what... "Everyone here does..."

Relaxing back into his seat, Vash smoothed a hand through his scraggly blonde hair, letting his eyes wander to the side in thought. "I guess I won't know the answer to that until it's too late...and I've remembered," he said quietly.

((Grrr, I need more icons... And no worries! I was falling asleep as I wrote that last reply, ha ha. :D And I'm thinking the 1% will probably be the image of the poster for his warrant; that way, he'll learn his "whole" name, his estimated age (which is actually more than a hundred years off, lol), why he has a warrant on him, and how much the warrant is. 8D;;;; Weeee, almost-cheating the system~ XD))

"Yes, our will to remember seems nothing in this island's eye." Miles commented, nodding his head almost absentmindedly before looking back to Vash. "Your attire is.. rather unusual, even for here. Have you yet hypothesized as to what you did before?" he asked. Miles had been curious about Vash's previous occupation, his world even, since they first met. Besides his strange arm the other man had no bizarre features like cat ears or wings like some inhabitants, yet he still did not fit in any type of group at first glance.

((I'll keep a look out for good Vash icons for you ;] Icon hunting is exasperating good thing there are 20 billion Edgeworth fan arts. Oooh, good idea! Didn't the warrent say something about July? God it's been forever.. when I get home next week I'm breaking out the Trigun manga. ))

Vash kept thoughtfully silent for a few moments, and then spoke, wondering things aloud. "...The coat...looks like a traveler might wear it. I had that thought when I first got here," he said, pausing to take another sip of his tea. "I'm sure a guy with an eye for detail like yourself noticed right away how worn-down it is, heh. That, and the scars..."

Who cares what I did? I certainly don't....

He trailed off, and then came back with a childish glint in his eye, pointing a finger in the air as if he might have it all figured out. "I was a stunt man."

Yes, this makes no sense given the setting of Trigun. XDDD And to answer your question, in the manga, the warrant poster actually doesn't say anything about July, but it does warn people that Vash is capable of "G-level damage" 83))

Miles watched him for a moment, scowling before taking a sip of his tea. "A stunt man.. perhaps that's why you get yourself into inane and stupid situations without worry." he said dryly, raising his eyebrow at Vash. "As.. intriguing as your idea is I think the most believable part would be the traveler idea. You certainly strike me as a nomad of sorts, even with those strange glasses.." he mused, tapping his tea cup, "..perhaps they're just the fashion."

((Another question! god I'm annoying :D How does that arm of his work.. the angel arm or something? O_o I can't remember. I remember when Knives messed with him and made it happen how cool would it be to have a Knives? We need more evil guys I think))

Vash gave a silly little grin and pointed at his glasses-less eyes. "My glasses? They are pretty strange, aren't they. I don't think they're prescription, so I guess they are just for fashion. Kinda like your cravat!" he added at the end, and then snapped his mouth shut and started sweating.

"...Er... I'll be getting you a replacement soon. Real soon. Promise." The poor guy, is he gonna make that motion with his hand again like he's missing something around his neck? T_T

((Oh god, I think my Vash would fall apart if Knives showed up and Vash remembered how dangerous he is. 8D;;; As intriguing as the idea is, I can't imagine it ending well, oh MAN... ...B-b-but then at the same time it'd be fun for when they just remember they were brothers and they're all cute. 8O NO. DO NOT PLAGUE ME WITH THESE IMAGES~ Heh, anyway, his angel arm in the manga is actually part of an un-tapped can-do-all-sorts-of-crazy-shit morphs-his-body plant ability THING of his. There are times when wisps of the wings come out of his arm to stop bullets, even. 83 It's kind of mysterious, but the angel arm gun and the bullet-stopping are the major points, I'd say. OH, and apparently his thoughts are transfered into the people that touch those wings maybe?))

"I certainly hope so." Miles commented as he took a sip of his tea, making a conscious effort not to do just as Vash thought and allow his hand to touch his neck again. I am not giving into such a foolish nervous tick, this is absolutely ridiculous. He scolded himself, placing his cup down in front of him.

"How has your job been going - you are a gardener, correct?" Miles moved from the topic of his cravat, raising an eyebrow at Vash as he spoke.

((>DDDD Or it could be like 'oh hey my bro <3' then Vash would remember the crazy and be all emotionally torn XD' It would be epic! Plus Knives is awesome, and there could be a Midvalley (ahh, I love him :D) and Wolfwood of course and.. *shuts up* >>'''' It would be cool pretty much. How does his angel arm activate? Like the 'woah, giant gun destroy everything and make Vash emo' work? imagine how much trouble he would get into for THAT property damage >>''' ))

"Close! I help out as a farmhand, it's really satisfying! The smell and the air out there is breath-taking," Vash replied cheerfully, "Something about that place really revitalizes me. It's also great to know that all the crops we're tending to will soon make their way to all the hungry mouths on the island. I can't cook at all, but at least I can help bring in the raw ingredients!"

He sipped up the rest of his tea, and sighed aloud happily as he put the empty cup down. "Aah, what great stuff... Different from that 'green tea' Haruhi let me try the other day, though. What kind is it?"

((When Vash is first made to fire it at July and then also at 5th moon, Knives kinda makes him activate it, and then he taps into it again during a really stressful situation where he stopped an elevator from killing him and Meryl, and then after that he was able to control it himself and activate it through his will. But yeah, when it was first activated, it was because Knives was using his own angel arm power and like pulling it out of Vash or something. 8O And Vash would probably destroy AT LEAST half of the entire island if he used it. 8I So he'll learn to not do that, ha ha.))

"You have the very unique ability to find good in nearly everything don't you?" Miles commented, tone between sarcastic and amused as he shook his head. "Personally I find nature to be troublesome at best." he added, picking up the pot.

"Would you like another cup?" He asked as he poured himself more. "It's not green tea, it's oolong - similar to green tea but with different oxidation. This particular brand is Tie Guan Yin, it's fairly popular. Out of all the brands I've tried I find myself partial to it."
