Notes: I think we'll open the log itself from now until Sunday evening. If anyone hasn't replied to say they're going yet or is a late straggler or whatnot, please say so in the ball announcement post, because that's where we'll do the headcount. As such, if people who didn't go with dates form actual couplings at the ball, please report it there as well to be eligible for the reward. You have until Sunday eveing at the latest. The consequences of not going and the reward for dates will both be announced at the end, when we wrap up this log. As far as formatting goes... I'm not too picky here? Past-tense log, present-tense action, whichever you guys prefer -- but try to keep each comment-thread in the same format, at least?
There is a new ballroom just opened appeared, near city hall. The room is rectangular, with a dance area in one end, and a food area in the other. The place is fairly well-lit, the ceiling hung with crystal chandeliers.
In the dance area, there is an orchestra in the corner playing mostly-classical music, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly. The lights are slightly dimmer there, with slow-roving beams of colorful almost-spotlights.
The food area has several long tables laden with food and drinks, magically refilling themselves when empty. There is a chocolate fountain at the end of the dessert table, with many fruits and other dipping-foods nearby. Oh, and plates and cutlery, of course. Besides those, there are also round tables surrounded by chairs, each seating about 10 people.
Also, due to Haruhi's interference, one/some(?) of the walls have hieroglyphs on it/them, and one/some(?) of the drinks will change the color of people's tongues.
