It's nice to know you love your characters, but.
Once upon a time apps weren't long enough. So we told people to make them longer. Because we weren't getting enough basics. And we got tired of telling them to add the same things over and over.
Now they are way too long.
And I don't know if this is warped perception or bad precedent or what, but our happy length is about five comments. You can cover more or less everything we need in five comments. Our happy range is about three to six comments. If you're missing a little something, we'll let you know. Unless an app is blatant trolling or somesuch, we allow at least two revisions/additions. Please do not be paranoid and churn out the plot in minute detail over the course of 11 comments. You can spend 20 comments on the series's plot and still miss out on something we want. (It's happened.) Save both of us the effort.
Some examples of concise and sufficient:
Sora: Kingdom Hearts and Memento Eden round the first, background in three posts, total app in four comments.
Rosette: Chrono Crusade background in one and a half comments, full post in two. (I was surprised.)
Death: Big epic Sandman series, character that lived a billion years -- five comments.
We're not going to turn down apps with much more than we want, because it is sufficient and beyond, but it does make us less happy than a nice tidy five-comment app. We really really really don't want to put a word count max on comments but.
Happy length = ~5 comments.
Thanks.
