Job Descriptions (since we have new people I thought these may be helpful)
Apprentice Healer - These people are expected to learn the arts of healing from the clerics at the church. They are like little clerics in training.
Ari's Secretary - As the name applies, this person is the secretary for the mayor, Ari. Duties include filing files, answering the phone, and filing more files. This job requires an IC application of Name, Age, Location (generally room number?), and Qualifications.
Assistant Blacksmith - This position is to help out the town's blacksmith in creating tools and weapons given the population (and thus demand) has been growing so rapidly. It is likely that at times this person will also be asked to help sell in the weapons shop with the store's clerk (which remember is like a flying cat... thingy XD;)
Assistant Shop Clerk - This position is to help one of the various shopkeepers in... shopkeeping. There is one position available per store.
Rare Artifacts Store
The Lumber Yard
Houses and Apartments
The Used Goods Store
The Pet Shop
The Book Store
One Stop Clothing Shop
Weapons Shop
Harvest Moon Annual Costume Store
Lacewing Dreams Formalwear
Bank Teller - (NOTE: The mun will in no way be responsible for any monies handling themselves. This will still be a mod-only duty.) These people will be responsible for aiding the bank clerks at the bank handling loans, repayments, withdrawals and deposits for those with bank accounts.
Bartender - The bartender will be expected to serve drinks, provide good service to customers, be friendly and chatty and be able to clean up at the end of the evening.
Boat Maintainer/Driver - These are the people who work down at the boat house and wharf (on the lake in town) maintaining and driver the boats under the Boathouse Manager. Light to moderate repairs, driving the boats and such are to be expected for those applying. Training as with any of these jobs will be provided at the job, of course.
Boathouse Manager - The Boathouse Manager lives in the Boathouse by the lake and is responsible for managing the boats and their drivers/maintainers, as well as the cruise ships and casino ship.
Bouncer - The bouncers are generally responsible for keeping people out of the bar who aren't allowed in, almost a guard force for the bar. Must be strong and able to handle trouble.
Cook - The cooks provide meals for all the inhabitants of Ari's apartment, and special-case characters that are living outside because of their jobs. There are two shifts available: day shift, which covers breakfast and lunch, and evening shift, which covers dinner. Each cook is aided by up to two prep cooks.
Court Page - This is the equivalent of an errand person for the courthouse. They will fetch documents, people, deliver memos, sorting mail, etc etc.
Delivery Person - This is somewhat self-explanatory, but these people will work at the town's post office (they must have one given that Memento is an actual town with other people supposedly in it, I'm sure they have some sort of mail system in use). So they will deliver mail and packages to various townsfolk.
Factory Worker - Factory Workers are needed to work the assembly lines in the factories. They are responsible for the manufacturing of all the mass-produced goods in Memento.
Farmhand - Farmhands are needed to tend to the crops that eventually become food for all of Memento. The fall harvest is upon us so farmhands will be helping harvest crops. In the winter months, they'll be working in the greenhouses tending to vegetables. In spring they'll be planting, weeding and tending to newgrown shoots.
Fishermen - Well, our fish has to come from somewhere! Fisherpeeps will have to load up on boats at the beach and take to the open water to help catch fish. Both net fishing and pole fishing is done. When requesting the job, please let the mods know which kind of fishing you would like to do.
Gardener/Landscaper - It'll be up to these people to keep the area around Ari Apartments and in the park looking nice. In the fall, they'll be responsible for clearing out the dying plants of the year and raking leaves. In the winter they'll be responsible for making certain delicate plants don't freeze to death and shoveling snow. In spring they'll be upkeeping the flowers.
Jail Guard - Essentially you work as a guard at the jail helping keep the prisoners in line, making rounds, serving meals and supervising out of cell tasks. The position carries a certain amount of risk due to the nature of the work and applicants should be capable of self-defense if need be. Self-restraint and patience are a good qualities to possess for this job as well.
Janitor - These are the people who clean up after all of us. There is one janitor each for Memoria Apartments, the school, town hall, and the church, and there are two janitors for the Ari Apartments. Currently, both janitorial jobs for the Ari Apartments, the church, and the school are taken.
Lab Assistant - These people help in the labs, sometimes working with dangerous chemicals. What exactly are they making? Who knows...
Launderer/Launderess - These people will work in the laundry facilities attached to the Ari apartments. Tenants are responsible for taking their laundry to the facility and the laundry personnel take it from there and leave clean clothes for pick up.
Librarian Aid - These people will work at the libraries running errands for the head librarian. They also take care of checking books out to patrons, re-shelving books, and keeping track of new book arrivals and sorting them into the appropriate places. They also are expected to become familiar with the layout and general contents of the library in order to help patrons with questions.
Lumberjack - Lumberjacks are responsible for bringing a source of wood into Memento. They go out into the woods each day to cut down trees that appear to be good sources of lumber, then bring them back into town in order to process the wood into lumber sold at the shop and used in the factory.
Maintenance Worker - The maintenance workers mainly help to fix problems around the city. They must be ready to be on hand for any problem that may occur, though, if the problem is too big, the island will give a magical hand. There is one position each for Memoria Apartments, the school, town hall, and the church plus park. The Maintenance Chief is in charge of the Ari Apartments and has jurisdiction in the entire city.
Miner - This position requires going into the mines to provide raw materials, such as iron ore for the blacksmith or construction, or copper for electrical wires. Upper body strength is recommended for this job!
Patrolman - Patrolpersons will be expected to keep an eye on things in the apartments and town, watching out for suspicious persons or activities and be able to hold their own should they be required to deal with said suspicious persons or activities. Patrolpersons are expected to obey orders from both Erik Wolfgang (NPC) and Leo (NPC).
Prep Cook - These are the people who help out the two main Ari Apt. chefs working in the kitchens, set right off the apartment's first floor. They help prepare food, help clean up and all the stuff one would expect an assistant chef do. There are two options for shifts on this - day time which covers breakfast and lunch shifts and evening which is dinner shift. ^.^ There are currently no spots open.
School Cafeteria Cook - These people are responsible for making food at the school for the students (and the teachers) who did not pack lunches to eat.
Stablehand - Stablehands take care of the animals borded at the stable. This includes daily grooming, feeding, watering, stall-cleaning and all-around caring for the animals.
Stablemaster - Job entails managing the stablehands (assigning daily tasks and making certain they get done), overseeing upkeep of the animal accommodations and bookkeeping. Maturity and experience required. This is a full time job. Note that you are expected to manage the stables completely and will be given quarters there.
Stripper - The strippers work at the bar at night, and mainly dances for the customers' pleasure with... little clothes... and such. Must be 18 or over to apply. There are two strippers, one male and one female. Currently, the female position is open.
Teacher - There are nine teacher jobs in total: Art, Science, Music, Social Studies, Math, English, Phys. Ed., Health, and Home Ec. Currently, the health, music, science, math, and social studies positions open.
Waiter/Waitress - These are the people who at various restaurants in town take orders, serve food, bus tables, etc etc. Waiting on tables at a restaurant is pretty self-explanatory and that is what these people do. They do not work in the Ari Apartment kitchens, just to clarify otherwise they wouldn't be earning tips. It's up to the mun what kind of restaurant they work at.
These jobs will be open until filled. If you'd wish your character to "apply" for a job, comment here and we will add them to the job list sometime before the next salary period when I add up the current week's wages. (I will count that they got hired at the beginning of the week, no matter when you comment to make my own job easier).
Edit 7/29/08: Instead of simply the secretarial position, all management-level positions (boathouse, stables, etc) will require a quick explanation of their qualifications. Outside of Ari's Secretary, these explanations may be given OOC. Although the other jobs have no strict requirement along these lines, we ask that you choose jobs for your character on an IC basis. If there are absolutely no fitting jobs, jobs will open over time from probation/dropping, so waiting is an option.
Edit 12/8/08: After having a character quit a job or drop for whatever reason, your other characters may not take that job for 24 hours.
Also, if your character already has a current job and wishes to switch, let us know and we will change out the jobs. Please note your old job, as our records may not be completely updated and Ammie doesn't feel like diving through weeks upon weeks of change logs.
