Christmas is a really big deal in the U.K. Turkey, brussels sprouts and Christmas pudding (which is a boozy, boiled, dried fruit pudding) are all traditional. Also roast chestnuts and mince pies, which are a bit like the Christmas pudding in that they’re made with minced dried fruit. We’ve already ordered our turkey. It’s also traditional to have such a monstrous bird that you have to eat turkey-related dishes into the new year to finish it!
I do love Christmas in England. There’s something kinda medieval about it, very much rooted in a pagan, agrarian society. I hope we get snow this year. It’s so different to Christmas in S.A. which is mid-summer and so hot! As a kid I can remember spending the whole day in the swimming pool with my cousins.

I’m doing a few big trips next year. A week in Barcelona with a couple of girlfriends in February, India for two weeks at Easter with three other friends, and then the plan is to go to South America with my parents in August. I’m going to be so broke!
The standing invitation goes both ways, babe. Anytime you’re over here ♥
