Elephan Parade
250 artists have been comissioned to decorate the statues of 50 baby elephants. As from yesterday they have been dotted all around London. Today I found two! And it made me ridiculously happy.
For anyone who is wanting to see them, these two were right outside the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Selfridges is selling limited editon replicas signed by the artists (actually they are not the only store- I think there are a few Elephant Parade stores dotted around London). Just the words 'limited edition' made me whip my card out. Sherlock Holmes came home with me today!
This isn't my elephant but isn't it beautiful? Such a traditional Indian design. It is the creation of jewellery designer Sabine Roemer and has a 700 carat emerald on its forhead. 700 carats. Bloody hell. Must be the size of my fist.
There are times when I wouldn't be anywhere else in the world.
