I am cultury-fying myself (well...)

Nov 27, 2009 20:38

Recently I have been going to quite a few author events (and by quite a few I mean two). And one of them was not only an author but a screen writer and director. His newest movie is in cinemas now and he was in Picadilly last week to promote the new film and I was able to get a tickets and also attend. At the end of the signing, I was able to get an autograph and a photo.

His new movie is Glorious 39 and it's got Bill Nighy in it. I wouldn't mention his name but he was there in the audience too! That was quite cool!

I get far too much pleasure from all my famous people spotting. I really do. And do you know what else I saw today? The trailer for Angelina Jolie's new film Salt. And it looks really good. She looks so amazing - especially when she dies her hair black.

I'm excited about that. Tom Cruise was an idiot to say no to the film, but it looks as if the film has only gone from strength to strength by having Angelina Jolie instead.

And eventually Sister and I were able to go see Marilyn: Forever Blonde in the theatre. We actually went on the last day and I really loved it. It was a monologue and Sunny Thompson who played Marilyn was brilliant. Sister didn't have as good a time since she's indifferent towards Marilyn.

And this is to all my blog readers who live in the UK and are under 23. Mousetrap is a charity run to bring theatre to young people. If you are under 18 you can go and see shows for a fiver and if you are between 19 and 23 you get to see shows for a tenner. If you are in the correct age groups then I urge you to join. Today I received an email from them telling em that they have tickets to see The Misanthrope in January for £10. And If I was under 18 I could go see An Inspector Calls for a fiver. I want to see that show soooo badly.

But I'm not complaining too much because The Misanthrope stars Damian Lewis, Tara Fitzgerald, Keira Knightley and Dominic Rowan.

I am really looking forward to the new year for this!

Anyway today was an easy day for me, which was wonderful. I did some shopping for work and for fun and I helped Maar in the kitchen and then I just relaxed. It was really wonderful. From tomorrow I am back at the Eye, which will be really nice. I missed working there. And it will be very nice to see everyone again after 2 whole weeks of not seeing any of them. I also started reading an absolutely brilliant Georgette Heyer mystery. I love the humour in her books.
How did all of you fare today?

Live Long and Prosper!

xoxo
