I didn't post this properly before. For two weeks in November I will be working at Random House! How excellent is that? I am thrilled with that news - when they called me I almost blew a gut. In happiness and joy. And then came the various problems. They called me on Saturday and wanted me for 2 weeks starting the next week. That I couldn't do. But then they offered me the work 2 weeks later. Which I thought I could do.
Yet, getting time out was much harder then I thought it would be. They have cut back on staff (for many reasons - most of them to do with money and because of that there are barely any members of staff around. So getting those 2 weeks off, even with 2 weeks worth of notice means I am very likely going to get a telling off. How wonderful is that?
It is going to make my day. It's not as if I could give them any more notice - I told them as soon as I knew about it.
But I will have to deal with it. And Random House's HR department are extremely slow with sending my the conformatory email/letter. I still haven't got anything and I am starting to panic a little more. What if they have changed the dates? What if something else has gone wrong? How can I tell the Eye that I'm sorry but now I can't do those to weeks, instead I need to do it another 2 weeks? Crap.
But I did find something that cheered me up slightly. If not that, then it calmed me down.
