what an unbelievably great day!!
so, wisdom to pass onto others. don't get credit cards!!!
i made this mistake. and ended up with 8 or 9 cards and about $50,000 in credit card debt.
so i made a decision to get out from under this this year. i mean i could pay on these credit cards for another 30 years if need be. it's not that i can't make the payments. i always make the payments and always more than the minimum, but slowly all the different companies have raised my interest rate from 4.99 or 5.99% to 16.99-19.99% and when i call to see if they will lower them, they tell me that they aren't authorized.
so on wednesday, my bank made this huge error. instead of deducting $10.00 for the monthly bank charge, they deducted $1003.25. :o so i called the 1-800 number and they transferred me to the local branch and he assured me that it would be handled. he also invited me to come see him. so i decided that i would. i got there around 5pm, talked to him some and then told him, hey maybe you can help me with this credit card problem. well, it turns out he did.
we got approved for a home equity line of credit!! this is really awesome!! woo hoo!! so that means enough money to pay off the card at 5%. we can have them paid off in about 10 years. the house will be paid off in 3 and the truck will be paid off in 4. so pretty much debt free really soon. :)
this is really relieving. just that much less to worry about.
