Someone's come up with disposable diapers that are flushable and compostable. I think cloth still wins, but I applaud the vast improvement and hope it catches on wildly.

In 2000, there was a German study that showed higher scrotal temperatures in infant boys wearing disposable diapers as compared to those wearing cloth diapers, and suggested that this could lead to reduced fertility when they grow up.
