1960s modem reaches the Internet

This guy found a 1964 modem in an attic--wooden case with brass clasp, analog functionality--and got it to connect to the modern Internet.

That's so beautiful! The handshake sound made me tear up. (Though the ammonia I've been working with tonight might have something to do with that.) To think that my first modem was only 4 times faster, despite being made 25 years later. Things happened SO SLOWLY back then.
