The guy who invented Captchas (those distorted words you type in to prove you're a human) has also come up with a bunch of ways to use human brainpower for tasks that are hard for computers...and frame them as games so people will do the work for free. Genius. Thanks for the link, corvideye. Oh--fair warning: his website with the games, gwap.com, is not up and running yet.

Amazon.com has some Mechanical Turk projects, but they're not any fun--I've done a few out of curiosity, and the pay, while existent, is a not-worth-it pittance.
