11, hun. And I SO suck and still owe you tags justaarmydoctor November 1 2011, 16:59:09 UTC
There was just this naggling feeling. A feeling that he wasn't used to when it came to Sherlock. Oh he knew the other man was there and just... he needed more. Something he wasn't so sure that the detective was ready to give him to be honest. Then again he wasn't even too sure why he even wanted it. It's not like he's never been loved before. However there was just something about Sherlock Holmes... something that made him want more.

'Love' was a difficult feeling for Sherlock Holmes, when it came to other people. Oh, he most certainly had obsessions - his work would always be the biggest one. As he was married to it, yes, he would consider it a statement of fact that he loved his work. But other people? John? The detective had found a place in his complex life for the doctor so quickly that it almost surprised him. He'd become accustomed to having the other man there with him.

It wasn't something that plagued him as much as it did John, however, as that afternoon he sat behind the doctor's laptop, scouring his own site, the blog, and everywhere else for a case, or for something. It would probably be a good time to approach him about something, however, since his mind wasn't currently focused on a particular case.

I've got one in my email but there should be another. lol I think. justaarmydoctor November 1 2011, 18:41:44 UTC
It was almost amusing to see him on his laptop. Like it belonged to him when the detective knew that it didn't. Moving over behind him he places his hands on his shoulders, massaging them.

"Sherlock?"

I think we just had the one other thread, but I'm not sure, heh. Its whatever. propergenius November 1 2011, 18:50:20 UTC
Sherlock might not have been as focused as he might be if he did, indeed, have a case, but he was still distracted just enough that the familiar hands on his shoulders did not immediately catch his full attention. He did not turn.

"John," he acknowledged the other calmly, frowning slightly at one of the doctor's newest blog entries. A bit about him he found too romanticized, as usual. He's tempted to delete it, but not with the other man standing right there.

John should've known that Sherlock would be distracted. Though he doesn't say a word at first. He's not even sure WHAT to say to be honest. This was Sherlock Holmes after all. He does notice the frown though.

"What now?"

Since he's pretty sure it's something of his and not the detective's.

"You're always romanticizing me, John," he grumbled, and there was a bit of a pout there on his boyish expression. "Its always 'we went here' then 'we ran here' and 'we did this' and Sherlock was so 'fantastic.' " He sighed. "What about the process? I specifically told you not to make me into a hero, and yet I could swear you've already deleted that keen piece of advice."

Oh, he's not really all that mad, but it is something to focus on and grumble about.

That pout doesn't concern him. "I write it as I see it, Sherlock." He didn't write it any other way and the detective would just have to deal with it. "How I see you. It doesn't matter what anyone else sees."

Sherlock didn't seem completely, it at all satisfied with that answer. "I'm hardly a 'romantic figure,' John." Aware of the doctor's hands on his shoulders, he at least paused, his own fingers poised over the laptop keyboard.

"... can I delete this bit?" A beat, then: "Please?"

"You can't delete anything, Sherlock," he says simply. "It's my blog, not yours." That was something that he wasn't ever going to allow. "You only think you're not a romantic figure because you don't allow yourself those feelings."

Sherlock snorted quietly, but he at least took his hands away from the laptop, settling them instead on the arms of the chair. He leaned his head back lazily into John's stomach behind him.

"Does this bother you?" he asked just as simply, curiously. "Of the two of us, you will always be the more romantic."

That wasn't something that he'd really thought of to be honest. In fact he'd tried not thinking about that. Sherlock was right though. He would always be the more romantic of the two of them.

"Would it even matter if it did?"

Sherlock was silent for a brief moment. "I would rather something didn't bother you, John," he decided, drumming his fingers lightly, absently, on one arm of the chair. "And if there is something I can do to change that... I am willing to attempt to adjust accordingly, for you."

"What if I wanted you to be more romantic? What then, Sherlock?" Because there would always be a part of him that didn't believe that. Sherlock Holmes changed for no one.

Don't you know yet that you're actually someone to him, John?

Sherlock narrowed his eyes a fraction. Being overly romantic wasn't something that had ever really appealed to him. "After you've explained to me what you would like me to do, then yes, I would try."

Sometimes he knew and sometimes he didn't.

"And if I wanted you to actually show affection and be romantic, what then?" It's asked even as those hands never leave Sherlock's shoulders. He knows Sherlock cares but he needs the physical of it as well.
