[wait, how come he's sick? he can't get sick, right?

UH. FORGET WHAT WAS JUST SAID, HE'S SICK, OKAY. and curled up on the couch, looking tired.]

[how does chicken soup sound? hopefully not good because when she tried to make it, things...didn't go too well.]

[Nill had looked around until she found plain crackers and arranged them on a plate before pouring a glass of water and hesitantly perching next to him on the couch.]

[crackers... are probably a better idea. he blinks at her sleepily, pulling himself more or less upright.]

It's okay, Nill. I'm fine.

[she nods to him, although doesn't really believe it. a tentative hand raises to touch his forehead, feeling for heat or clamminess or anything, really.]

[eat your cracker.]

[he stays agreeably still and leans limply against the back of the couch. that cracker... he's not so sure about eating it.]

[but it'll make you feel better!]

[she thinks he feels hot and cold at the same time, which must mean he's very close to dying or something equally as worrisome. and she doesn't know very much about sick people...]

[except that they all need blankets. so she is going to run and get a blanket, draping it over his form.]

[luckily, it is just a cold! still, he doesn't look very chipper (not that he ever does, but still).

whoa, blanket. he looks up at her blearily and carefully wraps it around his shoulders to appease her.]

You don't have to... do anything. But thanks. I'll be fine.

[but i want to]

[Nill nods, but still runs a hand along the blanket to smooth and tuck the fabric more tightly around him.]

[do you know what is sadder than sad?]

[dead pets. she may be a bit more upset over it than your normal teenager, but she cannot help it, not when a little ball of white fluff is wrapped up in a blanket and stiff and still. she's crying, almost uncontrollably, over the little dead figure. quite crying, of course, but sad and mournful none the less.]

[Oh yes. She can't leave a child in mourning like this. Too young, too young to deal with this alone indeed.]

[Nill probably can hear her claws as she approaches. She sits down besides the crying girl, her ears falling a bit.]

[without the sound of her own sobs - although the pressure buildup in her nose and ears is something of a hinderance - Nill can hear the click of claws on the floor, and as a big white dog sits next to her, the crying ceases.]

[if only for a moment.]

[so she can gaze at the dog and, after a tentative moment...leans against it, because the feel of fluffy - alive - white fur is comforting.]

[Awe... Have a gentle nuzzle and a nip at the hair before a lick on the cheek. There, there... Getting over the loss of a pet is always difficult.]

[it's just so h - hard!]

[shakily, the blond wipes a mixture of tears and snot from her face and grudgingly opens her eyes to look at the small grave that had been dug for the dead bunny. she just couldn't bring herself to put the little stiff body in the ground because that would be like leaving him and - and...]

[maybe it'll be alright if she prolongs this by pressing her face to the big dog's fluffy neck.]

[Amaterasu sits still and allows Nill to bury her face into her fur. In the mean time, she glances at the small hole and the bunny bundled in the blanket. Well, Yumigami would have another rabbit shortly... Just the cycle of life and death.]

[Again, she nuzzles the winged girl. You have to let him go.]
