[Percy Jackson was a boy with a pretty big secret. Or a few pretty big secrets. The first being that he was a demigod in a world where most people didn't believe the Greek gods existed. The second was that he was the one who was supposed to save the world -- or end it. It all came down to his choice.

Those weird storms happening across America? Not storms.

But Rachel was...probably the only person close to him who still didn't know his secret. Not that he didn't trust her, but because she had her own world and her own dreams, and because he was pretty sure she'd freak out if he told her. Why shatter that?

It all comes down to Kronos, though. Percy knows he'll use his loved ones against him; that's the way it always works. And that's why he leaves a note in Rachel's locker:]

The rest of the day is filled with smiles, knowing she'll get to see him after school, completely oblivious to any deeper meaning behind the storms or the secrets in Percy's life.

So when the last bell rings, Rachel makes short time of getting her things together, already smiling when as she walks through the grass to the bleachers, waving brightly when she sees him there.]
