Hope this is ok... I've been trying to find an avenue where to discuss this.

There are quite a few characters that I'd love to interact with yet haven't found the right post, or they haven't posted in the in the right meme, and when I've tagged the meme, they haven't tagged me.

Any recommendations on how to proceed? I've considered a PM but don't feel like I find the right words without sounding like Carly Rae Jepsen. >_

Are they specific characters played by specific muns, or canon characters? If they're canons, you could try musemostwanted. If they aren't canons, maybe sending them a PM isn't a bad idea? Or, maybe check their journal to see if they have some sort of contact post?

I guess it's more specific characters (I have no idea who the muns are) that I've been intrigued by. Being an OC, sometimes it seems easier than crossing canons but still not as easy as the same canon. It isn't that I want to shack up a character either, I'd love to just have the characters meet and see where it goes.

My experience is send the Mun/muse a PM a message saying something along the lines of "Hey, I love your character, would you like to do a thread" most people are flattered...

Simple and straight to the point, eh? I guess I feel like I should explain my character but then it sounds overbearing to me. Thanks! I think I'll try it. :)

I usually add in the "No problem if you don't want too," most muns seem to be happy that they've been noticed in a positive manner.

You don't have to explain your character in the PM. Just say that their info is in the character's profile and/or provide certain links.

Sample PM:

Hi,
I saw your character, {insert muse name here}, on {thread/meme/comm} and I'd really like to do a thread with your character. If you're interested, here are some links to Jack's info:

History: {linky}
Personality: {linky}
Other: {linky}

Derek gave you the evil eye. Apparently you should know Jack's gonna be the ring bearer and Lisa from next door will be the flower girl. Clooney is guarding the cake and hopefully not knocking up Rossi's bird dog. Henry will be the back up on ring bearer or cake guarding duties. :-P

Most people don't mind getting contacted as long as you don't get creepy stalker on them, or not respect their answer. The worst thing that can happen is they say no.

Yeah, I'm glad I decided to throw her in there since I normally don't play her with anyone. She's the shyest of my muses, lol!

There used to be a contact meme that was posted once a month, and that was a great place to poke people you wanted to play with. But, I haven't seen it for a while, and that makes me sad since I met some nice people through it.

Yeah, I remember those but it feels like the people I wanted to connect with didn't tag them, nor did anyone tag me. Same kinda goes for musemostwantded. But everything happens for a reason!

Aw, no, I would have loved to have gotten a PM saying someone wanted to play with one of my OFCs since they get ignored a lot.

I normally got tagged if I listed my male canon characters from The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries and Justified. People normally wanted to play with them, and ignored my females, which is sad since my females are more interesting, imo. ;)

I mean, I love TWD but since I play all male characters, I'm usually eyeing the ladies (although I do like building friendships when possible and that's open to any gender). I don't feel there are enough out there. Hopefully not sounding stalkery, I've followed a lot of your tags but either felt like I missed out (too many others tagged you already) or I just can't figure how to fit one of my guys. You always give your characters depth and a clear voice. ...I really should've PMd a long time ago. :(
