Masaomi's dream was remarkably simple. It wasn't fame or fortune or even a harem, which most people who knew him would probably expect. It was nothing like that at all. The thing that didn't happen, though - the thing that made his reality so different from this dream - was undoubtedly obvious to the few people who knew about it.
It was such a small change, really. Everything happened the same up to that point. The call from Izumii; the complete, mind-numbing terror Masaomi felt; the lack of response when he called for help; his heart pounding in his chest as he ran to the garage. But he didn't stop. He didn't freeze. He kept moving, and whether because of his ferocity and lack of fear or something else, he managed to hold his own fighting the Blue Squares long enough for security to show up.
He didn't get out entirely unscathed, of course. Both him and Saki needed to spend time in the hospital after that, but they got better eventually. Blue Square's top dogs got sent to jail, effectively ending the gang's existence, while Masaomi, being a minor and pleading self-defense, got off with a warning. He only met with the Yellow Scarves once after that - to tell them that he was stepping down. Not because he was scared. In fact, there wasn't a whole lot that could scare him anymore. He was just done with the gang business. He had Saki, and that was all he wanted.
Now, life was simple, uneventful, and borderline boring - and Masaomi loved it. He went to school, where he was doing well in spite of his antics. Saki was in his class. She loved him, and pretty much everyone else liked him, and Masaomi even liked himself. Eventually, he'd need to plan a future, and consider college, and all sorts of things he couldn't care less about. For now, though, he was right where he needed to be, happy, loving, and loved. Nobody could possibly ask for more.
