Dinner was lovely and dancing was just quite a lot of fun and they'd ended up doing the latter until the club was closing in the wee hours of the morning. Thus now they'd made their way back home and ended up, once again, on Elani's rather comfortable couch. There had been a reason but, well, Elani had drank just a little too much to remember what the reason was and curling up around Zoe and alternately giggling about what a fun night it had been interspersed with snippets of various ballads seemed like a much better idea.
It's something like four am., and she probably should get up and let Elani go to bed, because while her schedule consists - largely, at least - of working nights and sleeping the day away, Elani's doesn't, and not many people want sandwiches at midnight.
Well, maybe they do, but they accept that they're probably not going to get them.
Still, Zoe doesn't move from the couch. She still snuggles up against Elani, because it would be rude, really, to leave their duet of "I Want It That Way" before it reaches its giggly conclusion.
Yes, that's totally it. And she's absolutely not yawning in between verses.
And maybe the song trails off in a combination of giggles and yawning and Elani, cozy and happy as she is with Zoe here, does have to actually go to bed.
"D'you want to go to bed? I mean. Real bed. With sleep. And stuff. But not stuff. Because I need sleep. Got work. And y'don't have to go upstairs. Could stay here. So bed. Yes. Right?
That just cues another spate of giggles. Not that Zoe would mind stuff. She wouldn't at all mind stuff with Elani, but it is late. So she strokes her fingers over Elani's hair.
"As long as you don't mind that I'm not going to be coherent in the morning until someone's poured coffee down my throat." She also has an afternoon appointment, but no need to say that to the girl she's dating.
"If you're sure you don't mind?" she asks, and then looks down. "Darling, come on. Up. Or we're going to sleep here, and this dress is way too tight for that kind of thing." Besides, this way Elani gets to see her lingerie. Even if she doesn't really notice it 'till morning.
"'Kay." Zoe is pretty much never unsteady in heels, but she stumbles a bit when they stand, still wrapped around each other. And the giggling will just start up again when they have to wriggle out of their dresses before they collapse on Elani's bed.
Being collapsed on the bed just means she can curl up against and around Zoe again with a pleased little murmur. "Always have fun," she yawns sleepily, "with you."
"Really?" Which is probably a silly thing to question, but she can't quite help herself. "I always have fun with you, too." She yawns and curls her arm around Elani's waist. "Always."

Even if Elani has to get up in a few hours and be a ball of sunshine for her customers.
