For now the commonality was the team and the fact that they were both warriors. Though Natasha had never considered herself as much before, but the battle in Manhattan proved otherwise. She was a spy making the shift to soldier and she needed time to come to terms with that. She was used to shadow. Used to doing what she did in secret, without detection. Now she was out there in the open along with her teammates and trying to scramble for some part of her life that still felt the same.
Coming to a fair with the others wasn't that, but at least she wasn't such a fish out of water that she couldn't have fun. People always underestimated that about her. They assumed because of her life and her career that she couldn't smile, or joke, or laugh. She just tended to be careful about when she did such things. Not that she couldn't.
Just like she was careful about when the walls gave way. Barton slipped behind them effortlessly because he had earned that right. Anyone else and she needed to know they were not going to use what they discovered against her. That she wasn't opening herself up to be taken advantage of. But Thor was not that god. His brother was the only one in recent times to know just which Achilles heel to go for.
She smiled a little once more at the way he seemed to prefer 'fairy floss' and took another piece of the candy so that she could slip it onto her tongue. "Americans have such strange words for a lot of things. Perhaps you should have landed in Moscow, or London. Sydney... I don't think it's Earth's habits you need to worry about. Just the American ones. Though my true homeland enjoys cold soup despite living with snow."
Natasha pointed her thumb over her shoulder and turned in that direction. "Back this way, big guy. You're easily amused, aren't you?"
