He wandered down the side of the road, not having much luck. The road was a quiet one and any cars that did pass completely ignored the thumb sticking out in their direction.

Eyes on the road. [He told himself gruffly. The hunter was far more worried about his car taking a nose dive into a tree, rendering it useless than himself flying through the glass pane and ending up a bloodied mess on the road.
Squinting into the distance he could make out a figure with it's arm extended.] Sammy!? [It had been years since Dean had seen his younger brother, but his tiredness was fooling him into thinking the tall shape was Sam. Slamming his foot down on the break pedal, Dean came to an abrupt stop on the road beside the figure.]

Kurda heard the car slowing and turned, his eyes widening when he saw the kind of car approaching. It was beautiful. He hadn't seen one like it in years.
The blonde bent his head to look through the window, the rain water running off of him like he'd just scrambled out of a river.]
Hello there. Thanks for stopping, I thought I was going to drown!
[ he laughed. His voice was light and friendly and he had a southern British accent.]
Is it alright if I get in?

It wasn't Sam...
Dean's expression faltered slightly. He'd been so tired that he was imagining things. And now he felt guarded and uncertain. Dean didn't give rides to hitch hikers at the best of times and especially not on nights like these.]
I don't know, pal. What're you doing out here?

I'm a traveller, usually I pitch up my tent and stay in there until the weather gets better, or I find a hotel. But we're miles away from anything here and my tent is ripped to buggery - I'm just looking for a lift to the nearest place I can stay until I can get this replaced.

Look, man, I really don't know about this...

I completely understand. No worries, mate - I know you must be reluctant to let a total stranger in your car on a night like this.
Thanks for stopping anyway. Have a good night.

[If the man even so much as looked at him funny then Dean would kick him out of the moving vehicle without an ounce of hesitation. He didn't pick up strangers, mostly because he'd met some weirdos in his time and he knew that some beasts like to disguise themselves as humans in order to fool their prey. And Dean is adamant about not being a monster's midnight snack. Reaching under his seat, he checked to see if his gun was taped underneath. It was.]
Where ya headed?

[Kurda slid into the passenger's seat of the car, swinging his backpack off of his back to rest in his lap. He went through the bag and pulled out a towel to wrap himself in, minimising the water he'd get on the car's upholstery.
He ran his hands over the dashboard.]
This is a really nice car. A really nice car.
[He looked over at Dean and offered his hand]
My name is Kurda, by the way, Kurda Smahlt.

Angus. [Dean lied. Like he was really going to tell his name to a stranger in the middle of nowhere. Pft!]

Oh... sorry...
[he gave the man an apologetic look and then smiled again]
Well it's nice to meet you. Thanks for picking me up.
Where are you headed?

I'll probably be able to find a room there somewhere, or at least something waterproof to stick the tent back together with.
[Kurda started rummaging the in backpack once more and moments later he has pulled out a bag of snacks.]
I'm absolutely starving.
Do you want some crisps?
[he offered the bag to Dean]

[Dean shook his head a little, focusing on the road.] Not hungry, unless you've got some pie in that magic back pack of yours. [He said, taking a glance at the blond before stepping down on the gas pedal. It was already the middle of the night and he was growing increasingly tired. More than anything he needed to find a motel to stay at in order for him to rest up and be on the ball for the hunt ahead of him.]

[Kurda laughed]
I'm a travelling researcher, I go all over the world for the sake of my work.
[he started munching on his crisps, careful not to drop crumbs anywhere.]
No pie, sorry. I think I still have a couple of fairy cakes in here though... somewhere...
