Passing through, that's all they ever did but Vegas there was still a culture of life there. It was small, people trying to keep on keepin' on as it were. And what did Daryl and Emily decide to do? Drink like there was no tomorrow, and apparently get married. So, good mornin' Mrs. Dixon.
Who knew Vegas would still be there, doing what it always did? Sure, a lot of the people were gone and there were walkers wandering about, but it was better than the quarry outside of Atlanta. And it had alcohol. So as some of the rest went their own ways, Emily had found a bar/wedding chapel with Daryl. The last thing she remembered was taking a shot and pointing at the dude dressed like Elvis.
Now, she was waking up with a trouble headache, and feeling like shit.
"Daryl," she moaned as she reached out to find him.
Daryl was flat-out naked beside her. When she reached for him there was a low sounding grunt, then his arm went around her pulling her to him as if she belonged to him, and he was trying to make sure no one took her away. The weight from the wedding ring? Well he just hasn't noticed that yet.
She doesn't mind being pulled closer and she curls against him, her own naked body pressing against his. Emily's still too sleepy and hungover to really notice the wedding ring on her finger. Instead, she nuzzles his neck. "We got really drunk last night," she laughs.
"Yeah we did. Was nice to just let go for a night." A deep rumble of a chuckle came from his chest. His hand came up to rub his face, and that's when he felt the cool metal. He blinked and looked at it. "Who the fuck did I marry?" He hoped at least it was her and not some random chick.
When Daryl asks his question, Emily blinks and opens her eyes. She sees the ring on his finger and glances down a her own hand. "Oh, it looks like we got married," she says before she starts to laugh. "I'm sorry but...this is too funny."
"Well shit." Daryl was busy blinking at the rings they wore. What the fuck? Walkers all around and they still manage drunk and married in Vegas. At her laughing he glanced at her unsure if that was an 'okay married him not that bad' laugh or a 'fuck i married this redneck jackass. The hell was I thinking?!' laugh.
Emily doesn't mind being married to him. It's something normal in the fucked up world they live in, and it gives her hope that maybe things will be all right someday. And when she stops laughing, she leans up to kiss him. "If I were gonna drunken marry anyone, I'm glad it's you."
He's more than pleasantly surprised by the kiss and her words. He chuckled and kissed her back. "Fuck just glad I didn't end up married to some chick I didn't know. Glad it was you."
