[she didn't think much of no caller ID number showing up since they had other stores all over the world. When she picked up and heard a dial tone, she frowned and called their apartment once more.]
Nick! Nick! [she didn't like the sound of that and whether it was Nick at home or not, somebody was there. She picked up her phone when it rang.] Hello? Hello?
[She tried Nick's cell one more time as she was getting up, ready to leave.]
[he almost runs into her as she gets out.] Whoa - where's the fire, baby? [his smile is faint, but he's frowning as he sees how she looks. Preoccupied?] Rachel?
Oh my god, Nick! You're alright. [she hugged him tight, relieved to see him.] Somebody's in our apartment. [she blurted out.] I tried to call home and your cell, you didn't answer. Then my phone rang, there was no caller ID and nobody was there. Just a few minutes ago, I called the apartment again and somebody picked up, then the line went dead. Then that same person called here.
[she was worried which meant she blurted all of that out in one breath.]
Yeah -- I'm fine. [he's silent as he listens to her explanation, his arms tightening a moment. He's suspicious of what this is.. hopes it isn't what he thinks --] Okay... you stay here, alright? Or leave with a friend and go to theirs. I'll be back. Gotta check this out.
[she was just glad he was there and didn't want to let him go, having no idea what was going on.] I'll stay here. Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?
[She'd learned enough about what he did and who he was to know when he got serious, he meant what he said. So, she nodded her head.] Yeah, I have it with me.
[She returned the kiss and grabbed his hands a moment before he left, telling him what she always did before he left.] Be careful.
[it's a half hour later, he calls her.] Rachel - hey. I'm out right now, driving so I can't -- there's -- apartments not -- stay there where you are! Okay? [static down the line makes it hard to hear...]
[She was trying to work but was too distracted, worrying that Nick was okay and wondering what was going on. She was relieved to hear Nick's voice when she answered the phone.] Nick...what? I can't hear you! [She was speaking much louder and hoping he heard her. At least she did here "stay where you are".] Stay here! Okay?

[he leant in and kissed her swiftly.] Don't call me -- I will.
