[corpses were so common nowadays that at first, Dean's watch didn't think of anything suspicious about it. It was only after there had been no word of a scheduled raid and the fact that no one had seen Jim around the last day and a half that dragged up some alarm bells.
The kid had been in the military and was as good a survivor out there as the best of Dean's little squadron. Him not getting out of bed, crack of dawn was a cause for concern.. let alone being missing and not reporting his activity.
Dean slid down to his knees, not looking away even though the sight of the mangled body was grotesque. You could always see worse.]

[cue the typical, 'are you stupid?' look. But, he doesn't say it, to his credit.] Just start gatherin' the guys up...
[he stalks away himself, calling out to the mark for the watch to be taken down a few minutes as he helped him out. Someone went without beckoning to take over. They all pitched in around here.. some because they didn't want to seem like traitors, or spies.. others because they were loyal. Unfortunately, Dean could count on one hand the ones he knew without a doubt were actually trustworthy. But that was a big thing in his book, so...]
