i wish plurk wasn't the big deal it is now. i like seeing my friends' status updates, sure, but it's such a timesink and i miss when people plotted over aim/pm/in the open instead.

It's like an instant messenger (only on a website) crossed with Twitter (character limit). Sort of.

Ufrgh. Plurk.

I refuse to leave AIM, I wish people would go back to using it ;(

This is why I use both. Plurk can be useful, but it's no replacement for IM.

AIM is useless when you want to talk to a whole group of people at once, though, especially if you all live in different timezones/have different schedules.

If we all went back to using AIM, I'd have maybe one or two people in my game with timezones and schedules compatible with mine that I could talk to.

Half of my cast is on the other side of the world and another castmate works the nightshift. We're never all on AIM at the same time so Plurk has been a lifesaver for us plotting-wise.

... AIM has never worked for me. ^^; The connection is utter rubbish in my country, for whatever reason, and it always signs me out after 5 minutes at most.

Then, AIM locks me out because I've signed in and out too many times.
