6! SEMI-CANON-ISH HERE shadowofadragonJuly 13 2011, 13:12:48 UTC
[One struggle is over for good now... The Dark has won.]
[Kain looks for targets to stab, and eventually notices a certain pink-haired mage. She's not Cecil, alas, but she'll do. INCOMING DRAGOON ATTACK NOW!]
IN WHICH NOBODY IS SURPRISED.twincastingJuly 13 2011, 16:30:36 UTC
[Her duties take her to the mountain every so often. Kain isn't the only one to have come here seeking something after tales of Baron's king finding great power here spread. Sadly, he is the only one to have lasted as long as he has. Praying for the souls of those whom the mountain punished with its hordes of undead for coming here for the wrong reasons is just another of the Elder's duties that, in his failing health, he's passed on to Porom. Generally, she pretends not to notice the Dragoon. When she's feeling particularly patient she'll leave food and potions for him for Cecil's sake. Even if she's almost certain he'll be too proud to accept the charity of others. But she doesn't speak to him and he's certainly never made any effort to acknowledge her presence.
She's knelt by the monument at the mountain's peak, lighting incense there when he attacks. She senses the approaching darkness and it's only turning to look to see what it is that moves her just out of the way of the spear.]
[She casts blink, stepping back as the spear tears through the first of her doubles.]
You- what? This is- you- [She doesn't ask anything more. Because she knows. The elder had told her and Palom the risks of fighting oneself on the mountain long ago, the night before Cecil washed up on Mysidia's shores.]
[The spear tears through the second of the doubles the first time, leaving her vulnerable again. The second time, she tries to stop it with her hand and catches it with protect. It blunts and pads the blow, at least, but it doesn't do much about the force behind it. She grits her teeth, managing not to scream, as the bones crack audibly in her hand. Just defending herself is quickly not becoming a good option. But attacking Kain-
-suddenly seems a lot less of a terrible thing to do when he mentions harming Cecil. She was going to cast blink again. But guess what?]
[Kain had been all ready to lunge at her and finish this, too. Instead the Holy magic hits him - and thanks to him being consumed by darkness, Holy anything hurts worse than usual. So when that strikes him ...THERE... he immediately doubles over and then collapses to the ground. He'll just.... be curled up in pain a while here.]
[She stumbles back, trying to move the fingers of her right hand and wincing. Even with white magic, healing bones in battle isn't particularly simple and she's set them wrong. She'll have to rebreak them and try again later, once she's safe. It's not something she's particularly looking forward to.]
3 YOU KNEW THIS WAS COMING. for_cosmosJuly 13 2011, 23:56:18 UTC
[The warrior is standing some distance away, not doing anything in particular. This isn't always such an unusual thing. The only difference is, he also isn't paying her any attention.]
[The warrior not speaking so much isn't really anything new. She's used to it by now. But not speaking is a different thing to ignoring her entirely. It takes her a while while to say anything, but eventually-]

-this is not strength.

But it is strength. I'm far stronger now than I ever was before. The Darkness has given me power.
[Swings at her again.]
Once I'm through here, I'll finally be able to go be rid of Cecil.
