Julie didn't want to hear about my birthday celebration.....she wanted me to post to LJ about it! So I am.
Jim was TOTALLY sneaky. I weaseled out of him that we were going to the coast and that was about it until the night before when he said we were going to Cannon Beach - my favorite Oregon coast town. When we got to Cannon Beach on Saturday morning Jim said he got me a hotel room, and not a card. We stayed at the HALLMARK Resort (see? no card....get it?) which is right on the beach and right next to Haystack Rock. We had a big room on the top floor with an amazing view of Haystack, an in room tub that we both actually could fit into, there was a long stemmed rose and rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed, champagne chilling tub-side with chocolates, a gas fireplace, AND.....he got me a one hour massage in the room (right next to the sliding glass door where I could be soothed and mellowed by the roar of the ocean - I never shut the door the whole time we were there) and THEN we went out to dinner and saw a play! Agatha Christie's The Unexpected Guest. The actors were great and that was a lot of fun. Jim really did an awesome job of coming up with stuff I would love and NEVER guess (my guesses were all wrong!) at the same time. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful and thoughtful person as my beloved.
We also totally lucked out and found my pink faerie outfit at
http://www.lalunaloca.com/ Jim would like me to point out that there was a big screen TV mounted on the wall above the gas fireplace. As everyone knows, we arent TV people. We did use it to watch Nature on OPB on Sunday morning while warming up in the tub after wading in the tide pools during low tide. The shower was also a two header that reminded us (longingly) of the Dalles.
