Chapter 7
After some advice, kisses on the cheeks, forehead, and well, all over the boy’s face, they bid their goodbyes and the middle aged woman got a final kiss on her grey
hair. They watched the man disappear into the crowd and when the both of them finally couldn’t see him anymore, the middle aged woman felt her hand been pulled by the boy beside him.
“Where’s Otousan going, Obaasan?”
“To…”
She hung her words while the boy looked at her with his sharp eyes, asking her for the real answer. The middle aged woman just ruffled the boy’s hair as an answer and pulled his hand to walk while smiling.
The boy had heard it the night before. His old man-he wouldn’t say it out loud that this man was his father since they had barely lived under the same roof, was not going to be coming back home. Again.
He knew his old man was going to go somewhere again and now, for quite some time, (he saw his brown big suitcase in the morning, umm… maybe he was going overseas?), that was why he forced his old man to leave after his school had ended and his grandma to accompany his old man since he was not going to see him (maybe) for a long time.
But none of them told him where exactly his old man was going, unless he was going to…
“To that Jejuni?”
…to Korea.
-O-Junsu once again pulled up his shirt and lowered the tightened jeans a little. He was going to go out with Yoochun so he was now in the middle of worrying if somebody would notice his tummy since it had been two weeks from the last time he had been outside except for school.
Eyeing himself in the mirror, he could spot a slight bump on his stomach. Junsu frowned and sighed. It may not have been noticeable enough, but he could notice it very well. His jeans and his other pants were the proof. They were all getting tighter everyday because of this.
With closed eyes, Junsu brought his hand to stroke his tummy softly-well, this time consciously. He tried to get the best last memories of his little Junsu even though deep inside his heart, he still wasn’t sure whether he really wanted to get rid of it or not.
He knew he was not ready to be a parent yet and neither was Yoochun. That made the abortion the best way to fix this drama-just like what Yoochun had said on that midnight call, but… if they really did that, wouldn’t it make them killers for not giving their child a chance to see the world?
Junsu felt his throat tightened at this thought. He was torn between two decisions.
I don’t want to get rid of you but I don’t want to see my hyung and everybody get troubled by my pregnancy later…
His phone beeped three times. Junsu knew it must have been Yoochun. His boyfriend must have arrived at the place where they had agreed to meet. Re-fixing his clothes fast, he ended the saddening thought only to stare at himself in the mirror for the nth time to convince himself that no one would look at his slight bump. He then took his coat and bag and let his feet lead to the door.
-O-From: Yoochunnie<3
I’ve made an appointment at 5, so meet me by the river at 4. We’ll go to the clinic together. <3 Chunnie
-O-Junsu saw Yoochun’s car from afar. He quickened his steps and crossed the street immediately when he saw the red light on.
“Finally. I thought you were not going to come,” Yoochun said with a bright smile when he saw Junsu coming over to him. Junsu smiled hesitantly in return. He bowed his head down upon seeing Yoochun’s eagerness.
“Traffic, hyung,” he answered softly. The truth was that he wanted to take his time for as long as he could. Junsu was way too nervous thinking of their destination, so he had intentionally done that.
Yoochun rolled his eyes at his reason and then signaled him to get inside the car.
“Come on, hop in. We’re running out of time.”
Yoochun drove off as soon as Junsu was seated on the passenger’s seat and had put on the safety belt. The drive to the clinic was filled with silence. Neither of them were talking since both of them were lost in their own thoughts.
-O-Meanwhile, at the Kim’s house.
“Mama, appa is what?” asked Jiyool out of sudden. Jaejoong was in front of the computer, doing his monthly report while Jiyool sat on the carpet; a folded table in front of her. She was in the middle of working on her coloring book.
Jaejoong didn’t hear it well ‘cause his concentration was all on his papers so he asked his little girl back, “What does my baby mean, hm? Are you hurting somewhere?” while turning his chair to face the also-busy-Jiyool. He was ready to put his hand on her forehead but Jiyool shook her head as she explained,
“Aniya, Yoolie didn’t feel hurt anywhere! Lee-seonsaengnim told Yoolie to draw appa, but Yoolie don’t know what it is, so Yoolie got confused! That’s why I asked you, Mama~” Jaejoong got struck by her question. He immediately ordered his brain to think of a best answer for her risky question.
“Appa is… um…“ Think Jaejoong think!
“Appa is… supposed to be umma’s life partner,” Jaejoong stated clean and clear. He smiled confidently but Jiyool frowned at him, confused. Jaejoong sighed and started to explain, “It means appa is the one that spends his life and his love together with an umma, their kiddies and…”
“Their kitties?” Jiyool cut excitedly. The curiosity that had filled her eyes changed in a second upon hearing the word ‘kitty’.
“Yes, and their kitties too.” Jaejoong laughed and shook his head in amusement. Typical Kim Jaejoong’s daughter. He brought his hand to pat Jiyool’s head. The latter giggled for a while before turning silent, eyes set on her mother again.
“Mama, do I have an appa?”
-O-Since Yunho had gotten back from work, Jaejoong didn’t want to get close to him as he was all smelly and made him want to puke. Even when Yunho had already taken his bath, three times, Jaejoong still sat far away from him at dinner.
Now that they were in their bedroom, Jaejoong still acted the same. Laying as far as he could and burying himself under the blanket as a cocoon.
“Come closer, Joongie.” Jaejoong’s muffled voice answered him from inside the fluffy blanket.
“No, no, you’re smelly…” Yunho frowned and shifted from his position, trying to hug Jaejoong from behind. Jaejoong turned his head away to the opposite side and started to whine.
“But I’ve taken my bath three times already!” he kept on struggling, even pushing Yunho harder when the older man tightened his hug on him.
When he succeed on freeing himself from Yunho’s hug, Jaejoong got down from the bed immediately, brought the blanket with him and sat himself on the sofa. Hands covered his mouth and nose.
“I don’t want to get close to you, Yunnie. I’ll puke! You are so smelly, do you know that?” Yunho jutted his lower lips, feeling dejected by Jaejoong’s words but feeling worried at the same time. He come to Jaejoong and knelt in front of him. Yunho assumed that Jaejoong must have been annoyed by his condition too cause he could see that Jaejoong was frowning while having his eyes closed. Oh, my poor Joongie, something must have happened to you, baby.
“Shall I take my fourth bath?” Yunho asked softly. Jaejoong shook his head in return and moved his head away from Yunho’s touch. He refused to get caressed on the hair by his lover.
“We’ll go see the doctor tomorrow, okay? I don’t want you to get sick. Now let sleep on the bed, okay. You’ll not smell my odor, I promise. I’ll stay-“ But before Yunho could finish his words, Jaejoong made a gagging sound. He ran to the bathroom in lightning speed and threw up heavily.
“Get away from me! You are so smelly!!”
-O-But Yunho never came back to Jaejoong’s flat the day after that night. ‘A woman with a little kid with her came to find him’, Yunho’s assistant told him when he had made a call to his office at noon. Jaejoong knew it right away that that woman, had to be his ex-wife. And that child had to be Yunho’s son.
Jaejoong too, never went to the doctor until he got himself checked in Gongju a few months later. He had fainted at the city library, the place where he was working at, after lifting some boxes full of new books.
The doctor had said that Jaejoong was 16 weeks pregnant... with Yunho’s child.
-O-“Let’s get in,” Yoochun told as soon as he parked his car. He unbuckled the safety belt right away and was ready to get out but Junsu’s hold on his jacket’s sleeve stopped him from opening the car’s door.
“What is it?” he asked. Junsu looked away at his question but didn’t answer it. Yoochun sighed and turned to face Junsu.
“Come on, it’s almost 5. The doctor wouldn’t wait, he has got lots of patients,” he told Junsu softly but Junsu wouldn’t react and Yoochun tried to persuade him again.
“Come on. I’m here, Junsu, I’m here. There’s nothing to worry about.”
He felt the hand that was holding on to his jacket’s sleeve loosen. Junsu pulled his hand off of Yoochun and brought it to cover his face. Yoochun saw his body rocking slightly and he could hear muffled sobs coming from his mouth.
“Junsu?”
“Junsu, look at me.”
Yoochun sighed and pulled his hair in frustration. He took Junsu’s hands-they were wet with Junsu’s tears. He felt his throat tightened when he felt Junsu’s clammy and shaking hands on his.
“Junsu-yah, we have already talked about this. This is the best solution. Better for you and better for me.”
Junsu stared at him with a frown. His tears kept on falling down. I am afraid, hyung. Can’t you see it?
Yoochun couldn’t bear to see it anymore. He then brought Junsu into his embrace, hugging the sobbing Junsu and whispered an ‘okay?’ to his ear. His eyes felt moisten upon hearing Junsu’s sobs.
Junsu was scared, he knew it. He was too. But didn’t they already agree to do this and face it together?
-O-“We’ll end this soon. After we have finished this, I’ll treat you to anything you want. How about a sushi set? Or we could try to have shabu-shabu for dinner? You once told me that you really wanted to eat it, hm Suie?” Yoochun asked nicely. He was trying, really trying, even if it was hard, to lighten the atmosphere between him and his lover. He could see that Junsu was fidgeting in his seat. Beads of cold sweat drenched his pale face and body.
Yoochun knew it because he was holding on to Junsu’s hand tightly. His tears threatened to fall and he wouldn’t stop biting his lower lip. Junsu was looking as bad as he did when his soccer team lost a match. He hadn’t talked, not even a single word to him since they had entered the clinic and Yoochun had helped him fill in his medical form.
Yoochun made a promise to himself. He wouldn’t want to experience any of this anymore. Not wanting to see Junsu in this kind of state anymore. It was more than enough for him as a reminder, that all of this was happening because of his carelessness. He had hurt Junsu and it was all his mistake for ignoring HIS faults.
“I’m afraid. Will it hurt?”
Yoochun grimaced hearing his hoarse voice. He brought Junsu’s body closer and tried to embrace him from his right side. Caressing Junsu’s arm softly, he said with a bitter smile, “I cannot guarantee it, but this is the safest clinic in Seoul so I think it will be fine. With less pain. And you can play soccer sooner”.
-O-A nurse wearing a light red uniform came to the waiting room. She was carrying something like a chart and was looking at her left and right, as if she was trying to find someone. Then when it came to where Yoochun and Junsu’s were seated, she smiled and walked to them. She stopped and asked the couple in front of her.
“Kim Junsu and Park Yoochun-sshi?”
Hearing his name being called Yoochun lifted his head up and saw a woman smiling in their direction.
“Are you Kim Junsu-sshi or Park Yoochun-sshi?” Yoochun turned his head to the silent Junsu and back to the woman again. He then nodded.
“I’m Park Yoochun. Kim Junsu is… him”
The nurse smiled again and led the way after asking them to follow her.
-X-I've come to one point of realizing that the title of this story have nothing to do with the storyline! I didn't know why I give this story such a lame tittle like this. Haha I'm always bad at deciding the title /O\ Let's just ignore the title okies?
